I assume it’s a Vans store. Primarily a shoe brand with some clothes as well. Mostly associated with hipster/skater types

If it's a Vans store I am thrilled. I'm 50 and still wear Vans. My middle schooler does as well. We just hit the Vans store at Mall of America when up there a few weeks ago for a hockey tournament.

Not just rumor, Panera Bread is closing by the end of January and moving into a free standing store near 120th & Dodge on the north side. That's a huge loss for the mall, although not as big as Younkers.

Dam-n —- there goes my Sunday paper reading location. I have been going there for at least 4 years.

The area up by Costco is a royal pain trafficwise and going to get worse when all those business open up.

I wonder what is going to go in there? The Westroads weekend "power walkers" will have no place to get their morning coffee now -- I see. I just hope Panera picks a good location on 120th & Dodge. I hate when Panera Bread feels too dark, like located in a narrow space in a strip mall with a short line of windows in the entrance. I prefer a corner location at least (with windows around two sides).

Going eastward, at a long-vacant site near 125th Street and West Dodge Road just west of the Costco store, a retail center is on track to be completed later this year, said Lockwood Development’s Bob Begley.

Tenants include T-Mobile, Blaze Pizza and a Panera Bread with a drive-through lane.

Usually when I’m in there on a Sunday morning it can get full. I also like the ability to go outside on their patio when the weather is nice. They are also shutting down the one at 133rd and Maple and moving into the smaller footprint stores — I’ve been in a couple of those and I just haven’t been impressed with the layout.

That and delivery. I just did that for the first time yesterday, have been sick and didn’t want to go out. Came pretty quick too.

I will say I have a seen a few studying but I have have seen more stop in for a lunch or breakfast before they went into the mall to work or shop.

I like that idea. I don't usually go to the mall anymore, but a sports bar would be a cool way to get back in there and enjoy a walkthrough now and then.

As I recall, there hasn’t really been much around the Panera location for a while. I wonder if you would get other retail wanting to be around a mall sports bar. Like a jersey store for example.

It annoyed me when I lived there that everyone would talk about St. Louis Bread Co as if it was something unique or novel - or like their food was not overpriced and average. I gave away so many gift cards to that place simply because their food was boring.

People are just proud of things that came from where they did and succeeded. Happens everywhere, reminds me of another place that sells bread pockets with ground beef and cabbage.

Great point. I'm not from Nebraska originally and don't get the appeal of the "place that sells bread pockets with ground beef and cabbage" -- it's a slightly above average fast food joint to me. But I totally get why people that grew up with it feel differently. It's hometown/homestate pride mixed with nostalgia. A powerful combo.

I don't get the Runza lovers either. The only time I ever eat there is during January and February on "Temperature Tuesdays." 3 or 4 bucks is all a Runza combo is worth to me....if I got pay the full price of 6 or 7 bucks then I would just soon go someplace a lot better.

the bread pocket with cabbage place has sort of grown on me over the years. I hated it when I was a kid. But now about 4 to 5 times a year I have to go over and get a quick fix. I don't know what it is with the born in Lincoln fast food places. Within a mile and a half radius of my house there is Amigos, Don and Millies and the bread pocket/cabbage place.

Runzas are NOT good, and I really don’t get the hype. The rest of their food is pretty decent, I just had a problem with eating exclusively runza for while and got sick of it.

I think their regular hamburgers are good as well as the fries. The actual Runza sandwich don’t really care for it. The restaurants are also usually very clean.

Mmmm.... You guys are making me miss Lincoln-born Omaha fast food. I love Amigos, Runza, and Don & Millies. Runza can get old (Ive literally had "gag me" moments with too many of them), but when you're away from a Runza, and you cant have one, they sound so delectible. (I love the Cheeseburger Runza, too.) Plus, as mentioned, their burgers & fries are so good. Don & Millies: That Double Don burger is wonderful, and those gooey cheese frenchies, and those $1 drinks. Oh, and Amigos: I ate there all the time and it never got old. From breakfast, to lunch, to dinner, it's just a cheese dip and salsa fiesta in there. I have new fast food joints I really enjoy now, but I still dont have my so-bad-its-good White Castle. (If in a "fast food frenzy", there are times Ill go to one restaurant and get my items. Then go to another, and get my items. But, that's rare. Lol)
