Not that I want it to happen of course, but with the way the world is today, and how big the event has gotten, I could see somebody running down fans with a van, or a bomb, or a mass shooting. Lets hope not, but I have just had a feeling over the last year that it could happen.

It's a refreshing, and a bit crazy, change from "the stadium is oriented wrrrronnnngggg waaaaahhhhhhh" that usually happens around this time though.

I think it's quaint that the owh thinks we're still in a time where out of towners will buy the local paper for info on food, parking, etc.in Omaha during the cws.

That's cute.

And so 80s.
Like the owh.

I’m just wondering if there’ll be a Dak Prescott sighting in Omaha since his Mississippi St Bulldogs made the CWS field of 8..

I wouldn’t be surprised :thumb: ...

While attending the Errol Spence fight down in Dallas Saturday night, Dak Prescott was wearing his MSU baseball jersey and cap..

If MSU keeps winning, I wouldn’t be surprised if he makes the trek to Omaha :) ...

It's not the best for the fans, tv audience and such. But some of this has been great for stadium sales and for the restaraunt and shops around TD. We were there Saturday for the first game. Lots of concession sales in the stadium during the hours long wait. Plus many fans exited the stadium during the delay (I had not realized you could leave and return, guess I was thinking NCAA basketball). You had fans for the first game and fans arriving for the 2nd game, overlapping for hours. People spent a lot more time than planned. I know we ate and drank more and a lot longer than planned Sunday. Everything around the stadium was hopping and packed.

If there is a positive takeaway surrounding the daily rain delays this year during the CWS, it’s what you’ve outlined above. There’s a silver lining to almost anything :) ...

All these rained out games is making me afraid. Afraid that the scam artists and wheeler dealers and politicians could use this as an excuse to tear down the Baseball Stadium in a couple of years when they get done getting rich destroying the Gene Leahy Mall. I can hear the lies and B.S. now going along the lines that if we don't build a new indoor ball park we will loose the College World Series. :(

Nice CWS related story in today’s W-H:

“Peter Burns works for ESPN, so he's in town to cover the College World Series. This isn't his first trip here. That came last year when he brought his father, a big LSU fan.

But Burns still had some things to cross off his Omaha bucket list. One was a trip to Stadium View, an unassuming sports memorabilia shop that still sits across 13th Street from the old site of Rosenblatt.

Burns, an avid baseball card collector as a kid, went on the recommendation of a friend who makes a yearly pilgrimage to Omaha for the CWS.

"We walked in and it was like you could hear the angel's harp," Burns said Thursday on "The Bottom Line." "It was just nirvana for me. ... It's not a shop. It's a museum."”...

So has anyone see attendance numbers for this years CWS? I believe they have been numbers releases throguht the series in other years and I have not see any. I also did a couple of searches and do not find any.

The games I have been able to watch all or part of on TV have looked like more empty seats than normal. Not just talking about the games with weather impacts either.

There have been some late arriving crowds for the evening games, but the place has been full. Friday Night was packed, nearly 5 deep around the outfield concourse standing room only area.

So using the numbers from Brad:

Total attendance so far through 13 games is 263,258 or an average 20,250 per game.

Last year set the all-time attendance mark with 357,646 for 16 games, avg 22,352.

No doubt this year is down, but I am pretty sure that most people will agree that weather is the largest factor for that.

It's like a war zone, for reals.

In all seriousness, if you look at the attendance numbers there, it's easy to see the weather impacted ones. I'm not concerned.

I drove by around 7, an hr after the game started and the GA line was still a block long. We walked around for a while, but got in during the 5th inning with no wait.

The other good news, they shouldn't have a problem breaking the 300,000 mark this year even if Arkansas wins tonight.

One thing I heard interesting on Sharp and Benning this morning is that Gary Sharp was saying that MECA will not allow you to bring iPads into TD Ameritrade Park (assuming it applies to all tablets). Found that interesting.

Didn't he say he didn't know if it was the NCAA or MECA. Something about their ability to record and then post video...

I tried to get a helicopter to shoot aerial during the games again this year. Unfortunately the one that I used the past couple times is also a crop duster and they already started getting it ready for crop dusting season. Too bad Omaha is without a helicopter again that the general public can pay to fly in.

I would assume most iphones can record (and post) better video than an ipad...

My guess is the size is super annoying when people use them to take photos.
