Yeah I agree. We had tickets but no way you play an exhibition game for MLB players in those conditions.

They are making it up. You can exchange your ticket for any game this season plus you can get tickets to one April game as well.

Glad to hear they are making another run at it next year.

Anyone who though that the game should have been played in those conditions since it was an exhibition is crazy. Add to that that some of they players are Big $$$$ Investments and you can add bat |expletive| in front of crazy.

Primarily a bunch of people who don't understand how rainout policies work, and/or want free stuff. I liked the 500+ word sob story from the one fan who supposedly stood out in the rain all day.

Honestly, I probably got more entertainment out of the facebook feed after the cancellation than I would have actually going to the game and sitting in that miserable weather.

The 500 word essay from the guy who sat out since 8AM boggled my mind, and I have to admit, compelled me to respond to him. I asked, what did you think you were going to get out of that? Is it vanity? He just said, "everyone has their own level of commitment." but in his post above it said he wouldn't attend another game this year after how this went down. So, that's an odd level of commitment.

Then, there was the lady demanding free drinks and using profanity all over their page because she "rearranged her schedule for this."

Alot of "me first" and entitlement on display there. So many first world problems too.

There was also a woman on channel 3 who was going on about how she and her family drove up from KC for this and to secure tickets to this game, bought Storm Chasers season tickets.

Wow. If you ask me, that's a special kind of dumb. If you are in KC, just go to Royals opening day. And, you have no one to blame but yourself if you invested thousands in this by buying season tickets for a team not even in your home town and knowing it was a game that had a 50/50 chance of being cancelled due to Nebraska weather.

People love to complain though...even when they are the ones making questionable decisions.

I am pretty sure they could have gotten some great seats for opening day in KC for that price.

If you did something like this woman claimed to have done to get tickets, you obviously have a fair amount of disposable income. I have no sympathy.

I've seen alot of people on the Chasers social media demanding straight refunds. I don't think they understand that this is probably more difficult than one would think. Sports tickets get traded like commodities. This was a high demand event. There were tickets sold through Stubhub, Craigslist, and other ticket brokers. Many of these outlets have no way to compel original buyer who then sold the ticket to reimburse the person who ultimately bought the ticket their funds back. So, giving a blanket refund would likely leave many with an ill-gotten windfall and others holding nothing but worthless pieces of paper.

Those people would then have a right to complain, if you think about it. In this instance, the exchange policy is probably the most equitable method to ensure that the end users get something out of this.

Chasers playing another double header today, in place of game tomorrow with more snow forecast. Ticket prices also reduced for today.

Awful weather for first homestand.

Chasers play a double header tonight. I was not planning on going but might be worth it to see Salvy. My fear and assumption is he plays game one which starts at 5.

One thing for this season with the Chasers that I highly recommend is Tuesday night games. They have 50 cent nachos, french fries, small drinks and peanuts. We went last night. The drinks are the usual small size which is fine. The fries are a great deal, they are the normal size. The nachos seemed to be a normal size as well. Just an incredible deal.

For those interested, the general public can now get tickets for next year's exhibition game against KC. New for next year is they got KC to come for 2 days if needed. If game is rained out Monday, KC will stay and play Tuesday if weather is better.

I went to the noon game on Memorial Day and it looked like they were lucky if there were even a thousand people there. It could of been since it was so hot.

We had talked about going but you are correct the Heat was a factor. We went last Tuesday and the weather was good and they had a nice crowd. As I said earlier hard to beat their Tuesday night specials.

Salvy is the lone All-Star (reserve) from the Royals.

There is an A league Royal from DR that is lighting it up, can't remember his name.
Hopefully the Yankees will give us some good prospects for Moose,
And 2 hit Whitt might bring some more talent to Omaha.
Those arms from the draft should be slow played in AA...

The KC Star take on the first MLB game to be played in Omaha (next year in 2019 before the CWS)-

“A home game away from Kansas City will be a first for the Royals. A Major League Baseball game in Omaha also will be a first. The idea came up about a year ago, and the Royals wanted in.

“When we first got wind that this would be a possibility we wanted to be a part of this,” Royals general manager Dayton Moore said. “This is our fan base. This is a community we love, a community that has been very kind to us, that’s helped raise our players.”

Omaha has been the Royals’ Class AAA affiliate since the club’s expansion season in 1969. The Storm Chasers play in Papillion, Neb., an Omaha suburb. TD Ameritrade Park, with a seating capacity of 24,000, is used only for the College World Series and Creighton University.”..

Interesting to read the game in Omaha will be finale of a three game series.

The article also states Boston and NYY will play a 2 game series in London next June.

I am most excited by Matias and Khalil Lee. It does seem like KC best and brightest are in A. Hopefully they come up with the pitchers we just drafted. I do need to get out to Werner Park on the next homestand, to see Creighon's own Nicky Lopez. He looks to have a bright future as well.

Interesting trivia during today's Royal's game:
Since 2000 five MLB players have made 5 consecutive All-Star appearances.

Ichiro Suzuki (2001-2010)
Derek Jeter (2006-2012)
Josh Hamilton (2008-2012)
Robinson Cano (2010-2014)
Salvador Perez (2013-2018)

Most definitely. Butera might be the most popular backup catcher in baseball. They love him in KC. Also I crack up every time watching Gordon knock off Drew's batting helmet.
