Some stats from Dirk on Creighton's finish:
Since the Big Dance expanded in 1985, Creighton has 14 NCAA tourney appearances. No program has more without a Sweet 16 — Murray State is tied.

Since ’85, Creighton has six NCAA tournament wins. No program has more without a Sweet 16 — New Mexico is tied.

I don’t have the numbers — I’ll figure it out in the offseason — but I guarantee that very few programs, if any, have more wins than Creighton’s 649 since 1985 without a Sweet 16.

If only we could of done a basketball version of that show Wife Swap. Give coach Mac 3 future NBA studs like Nebraska's Parker, Copeland and Roby and Creighton would of been in the sweet 16. Give coach Miles Creighton's so called stars and Nebraska would of got beat like dogs just like they did anyway.

Creighton's Khyri Thomas meets with Greg McDermott; junior awaiting feedback from NBA draft committee
The deadline for early entries to declare for the draft is April 22.

“We’re awaiting some information from the NBA,” McDermott said. “That should come in the next couple weeks.”

If Thomas were to declare for the draft, he could do so without hiring an agent. That would allow him return to school for his senior year — as long as he withdrew from the draft by June 11.

Also some other notes from the team:
» Junior Ronnie Harrell suffered a break in his right wrist during the 69-59 loss to K-State, McDermott said. The injury occurred midway through the first half, and Harrell attempted to play through the pain. But an X-ray after the game revealed the break. The initial diagnosis doesn’t require surgery for Harrell, but the timetable for recovery is four to six weeks, McDermott said.

» The Jays have one open scholarship, and are active in the transfer market. McDermott was out on the recruiting trail Wednesday. ESPN’s Jeff Goodman reported this week that Evansville grad transfer Ryan Taylor, a 6-foot-6 guard who averaged 21.3 points this past season, had been in contact with Creighton — and multiple other schools.

Since you guys posted in the NE basketball thread about Michigan making the title game, I thought it would be appropriate to post here about Nova making the title game as well. If Nova shoots anything close to how they did against Kansas, they should win by 15 pts against Michigan. Michigan is a decent team, but I still can't believe they made it to the title game.

So far, Nova is representing for the Big East. They are up 9 with only 4 3's made in the first half. If they start hitting those like they did against Kansas, this game is over.

Great to see a Big East team win the tournament again. Now what would be even more amazing is for that team to be someone other than Nova.
