Men's Soccer Moves Up To #12 In United Soccer Coaches Poll

The Bluejays moved up 13 spots from No. 25 after finishing last week 1-0 with a 3-0 win against Butler on Saturday to open BIG EAST play and improve to 4-1-1 overall.

Creighton is the lone BIG EAST team ranked inside this week's United Soccer Coaches Top 25. Xavier (27) and Villanova (5) each received votes.

Freshman goalkeeper Paul Kruse recorded three saves as Creighton tallied its third consecutive shutout and fifth of the season. The freshman owns a 0.28 goals against average through the first seven matches of the season. Creighton has not allowed a goal during the past 295:10 of action.

#9 Men's Soccer Remains Unblemished In BIG EAST Play With 1-0 Shutout of Seton Hall

The Bluejays remained the only team in the BIG EAST without a loss or draw (3-0-0) and improved to 7-1-1 overall with their sixth consecutive win. The Pirates fell to 1-2-0 in league play and 4-3-1 overall.

Creighton ended the month of September 6-0-0 and outscored its opponents 11-2.

The Bluejays are back in action on Tuesday night at home against No. 4 Denver. Kickoff at Morrison Stadium is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Creighton head coach Elmar Bolowich announced his resignation on Monday after eight seasons with the program to become Executive Director of Armada Youth FC in Jacksonville, and McCormick Endowed Director of Athletics Bruce Rasmussen announced the promotion of Creighton Athletics Hall of Famer Johnny Torres from assistant coach to head coach.
