This is crazy, is this team gelling already? Or do they just have some preseason tourney magic?

What a win!

I think a little bit of both....they need to shore up their turnovers, but otherwise they are looking pretty good. I have mentioned this before but this is by far the most overall athletic team that Creighton has had in over a decade. This team actually plays defense.

Tyshon went off tonight. He is looking really impressive so far this season. His previous career-high was 20 and he beat that by 16, while shooting well over 56%.

Since Gonzaga upset #1 Duke tonight, there is a good chance that Creighton will face a #1 non-conference opponent at home for the first time ever. The game has been sold out for a few weeks and the place should be rockin on December 1st.

Rankings drive me nuts sometimes. How is Clemson still ranked ahead of Creighton even though they lost to Creighton and Creighton's only loss was to #16 Ohio St in a game that Creighton lead about 1/2 the night.

Unfortunately that Clemson win doesn't look nearly as pretty now. Clemson lost last night at home to a team that was a NIT road team last season. Was hoping the tigers had a good season so that win would look good for the new NET system.'

I think this Montana game on Wednesday will be much tougher than people think, any team that returns 5 starters from a NCAA team scares me no matter what conference they are in. Better not look ahead to Gonzaga

Yes, this Montana game reminds me of the Boise St game during Doug's years.

Times were much different then as a member of the Missouri Valley conference, but I think the Jays were looking ahead to a match up at home vs St Joes. I think the Jays need to get off to a strong start tomorrow night and pull away early if possible, so the starters can get some rest.

Large bummer that Clemson is not the team that I hoped, but there are still huge opportunities left on the schedule with Gonzaga and Oklahoma. Even Montana could be a good one come selection time should Creighton win.

Granted, it is really early this season, but I think this year's team is more well rounded than last year's. If Khyri and Foster were cold, no one else could pick up the slack. This year, there are at least 5-6 that can score (Ballock, Tyshon, Jefferson, Mintz, Zegarowski) and that is without Krampelj and Cashaw contributing much yet, and they both have proven they can.

This team is amazing when they pass the ball like they have the past 4 games.

Saturday should be fun!

If Krampelj's game against Montana is an indication of where he is back to, I would say he is back on track.

I am just really curious how these next two games go. I am very very curious to see where the ceiling is on this team, which I think is the most athletic Creighton team in a long time, or maybe ever..

Creighton played them even or maybe ahead on 3 pts and FG but were killed at the free throw line --- Gonzaga -- 22-27 Creighton - 6-10. And I know watching a lot of free throws came toward the end.

Is this going to be a Creighton team that is going to "Live and Die" on the 3 point shooting?

Gonzaga is a long team and guards the basket well. I wish Epperson would have gone there more, but CU limited them to 3 blocks.

Creighton was winning for about 3/4 of the game. Gonzaga was never once ahead until late in the game. It seems that Creighton just ran out of steam.

They were really on fire in the first half hitting three after three. But during the second half, they just really struggled to score. If only they could have kept it up til the end.

I think as this team matures, it will be pretty special. They showed tremendous potential against a very, very good team.

On to the next game.

That was about as good as I have felt after a loss. That was a great offensive game by both teams. Creighton just looked tired in the second half and a bunch of their shots were short.

I am still really impressed on the growth this team seems to have made since the first 3 games of the season. They have lead in every game at some point by at least 8.

5th largest crowd in Creighton history. 18,759.

Creighton wasn't prepared for this game. They're looking just weirdly lost, not even close to playing to their potential. Knew they would have games like this being so young.

So I have to ask... Is it worse that the Jays win over Clemson was tainted by Clemson being beaten by "a team that was a NIT road team last season" or the Jays losing to that same "a team that was a NIT road team last season" themselves?

They have. As a Husker fan I am not to blind to say that in most of those cases they have been the superior team. Last night that was not the case. We have no idea what the future will hold.

This was a game between a Senior laden team, who was at home, versus a team comprised largely by sophs, freshmen, and only a few juniors (oh and Cashaw, but yikes). The outcome was easy to see, and I knew before the game Nebraska would be out for blood. Couple that with a lack of effort from the Jays until the early to mid parts of the second half, and there you go, a blowout.

Next year, the situations will be largely reversed, and I will be curious to see the outcome.

For the record I fully expected that outcome just thought the Jays would shoot a little better and the huskers would miss more. Thought it would be UNL by 5 just because of their experience and the desperation factor on their end. It really was that fan bases bowl game this season and the way CU fans were treated in Lincoln shows they were out for blood (I thought they cheered opponents off the floor down there, unless cheering means the middle finger that's not the case)

I think the loss remains in the mind of young team and the game in Omaha next year will suit the Jays better, just gotta keep the regular season streak in Omaha going which goes back to 1995, so long ago that Nebraska was in a different conference, the Big 8.

Neb BBall will always be an up and down team. This year, they came with a game plan that the BJs didn't anticipate and for some reason their coach (who seldom seems to get criticized) didn't change up for this. This is the cause of the blow out. Next year, the Cornholers could come with 5 freshman and two back ups from the wheelchair basketball team and still win if they play hard outside shooting and CU keeps gaurding the paint.

Creighton has a big non-conference test tomorrow night @ Oklahoma. The Sooners are just outside the top 25, so this is the last big non-conference resume-builder. If the Jays can pull off the upset and win on Thursday as well, there is a chance they might be ranked next week.
