Bracketology still has Nebraska as a 7 seed.
No offense to Husker basketball, but Bracketology needs to update their seeding formula if that’s still the case, lol...
Actually this is from The Bracket Matrix, the avg seed of about 80 different formulas.
NU is as low as 10th seed in 9 formulas and left out of 1, as high as 3rd, but that bracket as last updated the 21st.

A month ago, Tim Miles was riding high.. Plus they just crushed the Jays.. How quickly things turn around in less than a month. If the Huskers continue to tank, especially at home- I think Miles has coached his last season at NU...
I already think he is already done in Moos' books.
To lose to lowly Rutgers and then at home to a 5-game losing streak OSU...
I wonder who will cone to Lincoln though, he has to be another up and coming.
On the plus side you have a great Auditorem and a great fan base.
On the negative you have to change a culture and your team will be young next year.

Not looking good for Miles. His only hope is going on a run like he did a few years ago that resulted in their last tournament appearance. A task that got a lot more improbable with Copleand's injury.

I believe this is an average of a bunch of different rating services. It is mot likely a factor if when they are updates. No way they are still projected at a 7 unless it is NIT.

The new computer rankings the NCAA is doing still like them a lot. Sunday's rankings had them at 25th, the highest rated 7 loss team.
Yeah as crazy as it seems that's what the computer thinks. Obviously it's the full body of work, not the current state only.
NU publishes support for Moos. Crazy how fast that rumor sprang to life. Moos will have full control of Miles fate:
Wisconsin is just not that good and Nebraska could of won tonight. With just 5 or 6 minutes left and Nebraska is down 44 to 48 with the ball and Watson runs down and shoots a stupid wild 3 from 3 ft behind the line and it clunks off the rim..........and that was the starting gun for the unwinding of Nebraska. Poor shot selection by the Huskers and an unorganized offense at best. Watson really stinks did I say that yet!
Rumor or not, many of us are very nervous about Moos. Many of us knew Miles had to be replaced last year and we are now wondering if Moos is so blind he still can't see it. On top of that we wonder if Moos is up to the task of finding a great basketball coach. Last but not least we wonder if it was not a fools game to hire this guy from the West Coast with no connection to Nebraska when we should of looked at someone like Matt Davidson with Husker ties.

Matt will most likely be the next AD. It seems that is what he is being groomed for. When they hired Moos he was no where near a candidate that was ready.

in a perfect world its time right now for Nebraska to fire Miles and sit Palmer and Watson so that the younger guys can get some experience for next season. Watson and Palmer are duds.

I am surprised the local media has not openly talking about Miles being replaced and a short list of possible candidates.
Greg
There is sure talk of him likely being out but I have not heard the talk of who might be on deck.

So far I have heard the short list that includes
Dana Altman
Fred Hoiberg (born in Lincoln)
Gregg Marshall

I just don't see Altman coming back to Nebraska. I think Oregon is his final rodeo.
Marshall is a tough read. He's treated and paid well at WSU, they upgraded conferences, and he's passed on better jobs. That being said I think he is a different breed so if I am NU I at least inquire. WSU is having a bit of a down year, but I think it's a one time deal and not sure that would factor into his decision at all.
I think Hoiberg will probably go front office in NBA. That's a wild guess. If he does see his future in college coaching, again, I think NU should at least inquire.
Not sure if NU gets any of these but I do trust Bill Moos in this process. So thankful Eichorst is gone. NU is absolutely flush with cash, I think Moos will not hesitate to really spend on this next hire. Something similar to Frost where he went 7 years with generous pay for assistants. Right now I think NU basketball has better facilities than NU football.
According to ESPN, Fred Hoiberg prefers coaching over a front office job. ESPN reports that UCLA may be interested
Former Chicago Bulls and Iowa State Cyclones head coach Fred Hoiberg told ESPN on Monday that he'd prefer to stay in coaching -- at either the college or pro level -- rather than return to an NBA front-office role.
"My passion is in coaching," Hoiberg said, "and I'm looking forward to what lies ahead."[/i][/i]
Another ugly home beat down for the Corn Huskers tonight. Thanks a whole lot Athletic Director Moos for the shame and humiliation Nebraska is going through. Nebraska was an obviously poorly coached team last year and nothing is changed this year. We wasted a year for nothing simple as that due to failure to act by the Athletic Director.

Making 12 shots from the field and shooting 22% are not gong to win any games.
I agree. I had someone at work say it was the coach's fault because they shot 22% and they don't like playing for him. My response was the coach isn't on the floor and three of them came back (one now injured) to improve their possible NBA stock -- playing half |expletive| isn't going to improve the NBA view of them no matter what they think of the coach.

While I agree with you in principle I have a theory that fits with some (much) of it riding on the solders of the coaching. I will add some thought there when I can. In general we have a fracture coaching staff in Lincoln.

Purdue is favored by only 10 at home against Nebraska tonight. Nebraska might lose by 20 would be my prediction.

I think it was at 12 prior to tipoff.
Nebraska 62
Purdue 81
That was a really low point spread for a Purdue home game against Nebraska.
I didn't see the game. But it's great to know Nebraska finally got a win.
Hit two free throws with 1.X seconds left to get the one. It wasn't pretty but they didn't play the whole game shooting 3's and that gave them a chance.

Nebraska has the ball out of bounds under their own hoop with Minnesota up by a point with less then 10 seconds left.......Nebraska throws the ball in and Palmer heads towards the basket in his typical half hazard fashion and throws up a sloppy 4 foot jumper and misses. Lucky for Nebraska the umpires make a bad call and gives Palmer 2 free throws to steal the game. It was a gift win from the umpires or lady luck!
After the game the BTN reporter is interviewing MIles and Palmer is standing behind him with his finger in his mouth. Eventually Palmer even takes his water bottle and dumps some water on Miles in the middle of the interview. Palmer is a boob and we won't be missing him.
