As a Huskers fan, win or lose, this is ultimately what I hope for. I’ve grown sick and tired watching Iowa push NU all over the field and embarrass them the last several years..

Compete!...

I'll take any win.

This is the Big One, gang, and the test to see how Frost and his gang can handle the Big One (tm) which has been the challenging spot for Nebraska over the years!

No doubt we have deficiencies on the O-Line. And that is showing. Adrian is going to need to be more mobile or else this will get ugly.

You get a better, cosistent, defense and that Nebraska team would be sitting really well. But alas, that takes few years of good recruiting and a good D Coordinator.

Guess the Hawkeye fans at work will continue to squak at the Husker fans for yet another year.

Interesting season. Can't deny the progress. The offense made some big improvement, mainly from the offensive line and running backs. Martinez was pretty damn good from the start but has not reached his ceiling at all. His throws were not nearly as accurate late in the season. Special teams even got better.

Huskers should be bowling this year, but Frost was completely right early in the season when he talked about players buying in. I thought it was typical coach speak. Some early season wins would have been nice to get to six. But I think the underlying problems would have remained hidden. I like that they took their lumps this season and got things turned around sooner.

However, I hope Frost does a little less talking in the media and gets involved with the defense. I know the last thing this unit needs is another coaching change, but there has to be some way they can either cover receivers or get QB pressure. Chinander brings the house, and the blitz doesn't even come close to getting home. Or he sits back and receivers and gaps are still wide open.

It wouldn't be Husker football if there wasn't a 4th quarter frenzy to make a game of it!

Another running back has a career day on the Huskers.

Can't believe the season is already over. Glad it wasn't worse than last year.

Nebraska Football 2019

Post by Busguy2010 »

Well, with the season over, nothing left but to look forward. The schedule is looking ripe for success next year. I know the season JUST ended, but If the current trend is continued, I could see a phenomenal year next year. I'm going to optimistically predict the Huskers will be West champions next year, sweeping all their West opponents. Or, with the loss of some key seniors, the success may not be continued seamlessly. I'll predict both.

VS South Alabama W
@ Colorado W, Colorado will have a new coach or L just cause Colorado.
VS Northern Illinois W
@ Illinois W
VS Ohio State ? Ohio state looking a little vulnerable this year. Could it continue into next season? OR L
VS Northwestern W The 'Skers will get over this hump
@ Minnesota W
VS Indiana W
@ Purdue W or L, Purdue is pesky
VS Wisconsin W, Wisconsin has fallen off this year, should that continue, or they bounce back L.
@ Maryland W
VS Iowa W

SO, 11-1 or 8-4 or somewhere between. What have ye?

Frost’s UCF Quarterback

McKenzie Milton's horrific injury casts a pall on UCF's blowout victory over USF

UCF is ranked currently ranked #9.

I couldn’t be prouder of this Huskers team. The progress they've made since 0-6 has been tremendous..

Scott Frost has turned the culture around.. I think the obvious focus for the NU staff is to try and get better and stronger up front on both sides of the ball..

At a minimum, 2018’s 4-8 feels completely different than 2017’s 4-8...

Boy, Michigan got massively upset by Ohio State today. 62-39. Similar to Nebraska/Colorado in 2001. So the Big Ten Championship Game matchup will be Northwestern vs. Ohio State. And I'll bet Ohio State's going to destroy Northwestern.

They just might get back in contention depending on how they beat Northwestern. If its anything like the 2014 Big 10 Championship, they may slip in past an already top 4 team

Northwestern started the season off as a nobody. They were 1-3 before really taking off with only 1 loss to Notre Dame. And now here they are representing the West in the Big Ten Championship game. Nobody saw that coming.

This is really good to see. a Juco All American signing with NU and that he's from Iowa Western. Lots of talent that has come out of that program and NU has not seemingly recruited it well. It's been puzzling considering Tom Osborne helped them get up and running.

Only two possible matchups can end the Huskers' 25-year Super Bowl streak

Burkhead and Suh both in Super bowl, a nice feather in Nebraska’s hat. Really Happy for Suh as he was probably the best player I’ve seen at Nebraska. A rare combination of size, power and speed. Burkhead also well deserving as he is such a versatile player and a great role model for kids.

Ozigbo with the Saints sounds like the best opportunity for meaningful playtime. Unless I missed something, he'll be expected to plug and play for the absence of Mark Ingram. With the way he and Alvin Kamara have performed lately, those are some big shoes to fill. Hoping he has success, that'd be so cool.
Wowza, on a closer look, the Saints only had one draft pick in the first six rounds, making it look like they knew they had to be champs last year.

Stan to the Bengals sounds like boiled chicken. The Bengals are so bland, or at least historically they are.

Anyhow, I'm not offended there were no Huskers drafted.

The Saints are nothing without Drew Brees. He had a bad year last year so the Saints were down. Drew Brees could come back this year and be on fire and take the Saints all the way to the Super Bowl. It is the same thing with Eli Manning and the Giants. I see Ozigbo as too lacking in speed and talent to be in the NFL but he is a hard dedicated worker which we have seen work well in the NFL as is the case with Rex Burkhead.

I can't believe all the fake news out of the media about Morgan getting drafted. I could not see it at all. Turns out I was right.

If they legalize sports gambling in Iowa I am going to be in HEAVEN. They say that we will be able to bet from an app on our phone but the call will have to be placed in Iowa. I will need to find a way to get around that because it is a 25 minute drive each way to Council Bluffs from SW Omaha.

Brees had a bad season last year? He had one of his highest QB ratings of his career last year and was second in the league. You have no f*cking idea what you are talking about at any time and are constantly wrong.
