Two fellow head coaches recently fired. Nebraska baseball has barely got a whiff of a College World Series berth. Two head coaches already fired. Recruiting the best talent to Nebraska is not getting any easier. Two fellow coaches recently fired! Yeah......Why not walk out now on your own terms and take a pass on being the coach that gets fired next year or the year after that.

Rob Childress? Will Bolt?

Childress - Long shot but from what was being heard before this announcement he is not total happy.

Bolt - Solid candidate but goes against the fact that Moos said as recently as last night on Sports Nightly that he is looking for a coach with Head Coaching experience.

Any chance of going after Brian O'Conner at Virginia who is from the area and played at Creighton?

It's not a high lever job but Will Bolt was a head coach for 3 years at Texarkana College. This was before he joined NU.

Correct, and I knew that. I wasn't clear on what Moos said. He specified Power 5 experience. I think Bolt would be a great hire by the way. He will be a HC at a top program soon IMO.

Erstad's is kind of misleading. I remember they were pretty open about him taking less (since he earned $50 million just on salary while in MLB) and giving more to his assistants.

One thing too, with Bill Moos doing the hiring, salary will not be an issue once he decides who he wants. Someone may pass on the job itself, but you can pretty much guarantee it won't be because NU wouldn't meet the salary demands.
