Isn't that within a mile or two of their existing HQ?Tornado wrote: Wed Jul 03, 2019 11:38 pm Valmont will build a new corporate headquarters building in the new Heartwood Preserve development. They plan on being all moved in by 2021.

Yes, but they currently lease and that expires in 2021.

That's great news for Heartwood Preserve. How many people are at their current office? Just trying to get an idea about how big of a building they would build.

Re: Valmont headquarters
The current two building hq is about 200,000 sq ft. Unless they are outgrowing it or don't need what they have, in which case they could just consolidate into one building, I am unclear why spend the money to move. It doesn't look like they own their current place. Where they are appears to be class A. As I say, unless they are outgrowing it why move? Or they got a great deal to move.

Wonder what the square footage is on this ? I’m guessing maybe 200k or 150.

Re: Valmont headquarters
I could be losing my mind, but that looks almost exactly like another building that was recently built/planned....I want to say around Village Pointe?

Re: Valmont headquarters
I don't think the article mentions it, but where exactly is this going to be? The reflection in the rendering has it adjacent to a 6-7 story building. Is that supposed to be the Carson or another future development? Also I am mincing words, but do they mean the new west Omaha downtown or a second downtown in for Omaha in West Omaha? If the former, what was west o's precious downtown? If the latter, are people expecting other things downtown offers to be established here, like the myriad entertainment amenities and city/county buildings and services? I have always had the mindset that this is merely a multi use development (a rather huge one for Omaha), not another downtown.

So somewhere between Carson's proposed HQ and the auto dealerships. I am glad they are filling up along Dodge first.Omaha Cowboy wrote: Sun Jul 07, 2019 9:01 am150th and West Dodge...ita wrote: Sat Jul 06, 2019 9:12 pm I don't think the article mentions it, but where exactly is this going to be? Agreed. There is quite an impressive “business row” on the north side of Dodge between 132nd and 156th streets...ita wrote: Sun Jul 07, 2019 2:39 pmSo somewhere between Carson's proposed HQ and the auto dealerships. Re: Valmont headquarters
Well, this corporation, which does business on 6 continents and has billions of dollars in annual sales, decides to build a showpiece world headquarters, that they can show off to visiting “dignitaries”, and this is what they come up with? A 3-story building that looks like it could be an auto dealership or call center.
Another feather in the turkey for Omaha.

The building that they are in now actually looks nicer than the building they will be moving into. Maybe the rendering doesn’t do it justice and we will be wowed when the new building starts to go up, I hope that’s the case.

It doesn't really matter from an employee perspective. No matter what the building looks like inside and out you spend 40 hours a week staring at 17 to 23 inches of computer monitor.

Re: Valmont headquarters
The point being, not every company within the local business community wants (or needs) to be headquartered at a high end downtown location in a glossy highrise building. At the end of the day, we can all agree that it’s most important Valmont decided to make this HQ commitment to Omaha.. Rather than relocate to another city.. It’s a business decision and if their top management feels a better location for their employees is to build in an area of Omaha suburbia, then so be it..
Would I applaud if a Valmont or TD Ameritrade relocate HQ’s to a glossy downtown highrise? Of course.. But I won’t criticize their decision not to.. Mainly because they’ve never hinted or wanted to be downtown in the first place (that I know of)..
Again, it’s most important a company like Valmont rededicated their commitment to the Omaha area by staying put. And I’m thankful for that...
