Earlier than 2001 but one of my favorite Husker QBs Gerry Gdowski was just named Vanderbilt's OC. Previously he was their QB coach, OC at New Mexico St, and OC at South Dakota St.

Ozigbo, on an ultimately insignificant play, made an impressive series of blocks on an unblocked blitzing linebacker to protect his quarterback tonight. I so wish we had another year of Ozigbo at Nebraska. I always knew he had it, and I hope he makes the Saint's 53 man roster. He has the inside track.

Hypothetical scenario: Let's say that Colorado doesn't pull off that massive upset against Nebraska in 2001. Instead, in the 4th quarter, Nebraska comes from behind, scores 3 touchdowns and wins. They hold Colorado to 2 field goals. That makes the final score Nebraska 57-Colorado 48. So Nebraska finishes the 2001 season undefeated and goes to the Big 12 Championship Game to face Texas. What do you suppose would happen then? Would Nebraska pull off a victory against Texas, a team that seemed to have Nebraska's number, or would Texas managed to beat Nebraska?

Mistakes the Nebraska football program has made since 2002:
-Hiring Steve Pederson as athletic director.
-Firing Frank Solich and hiring Bill Callahan.
-Leaving the Big 12 for the Big Ten.

Joining the Big Ten probably seemed like a good idea at the time because folks were tired of Texas' BS. But now here we are in the Big Ten having to put up with Wisconsin and they're just like Texas. It feels like, at least to me, like we traded one evil for another. Nebraska just doesn't feel like the right fit in the Big Ten.

At least in the Big 12, a loss to Texas didn't always end the Huskers' title hopes, but in the Big Ten, a loss to Wisconsin pretty much means the end of their title hopes.

At least that's my take on it.

So where do you think Nebraska would be today if Steve Pederson wasn't hired as athletic director, Frank Solich was never fired and Nebraska was still in the Big 12?

Peterson and Callahan were mistakes. Solich got fired for cause. He had to go or NU would have been stained for years.

Look for him on the Titans left side. He said he saw the kickers sign, he lifts is head up before a kick, so he got off a great jump start.

This is a great accomplishment and I don't want to rain on his parade. He took191 games to get to 110 wins and the guy he passed took 175

Randy Gregory was reinstated by the NFL Friday afternoon and is eligible to play for the Dallas Cowboys by game 7 this season..

If you’ve followed this story, his reinstatement was long overdue imo..It’ll be good to see Randy play in the NFL again...

Time might be coming that the Big 10 makes an example of Nebraska and kicks them out of the conference just to show the rest of the teams ( like Ohio state) they ain't in no mood to take back talk and harassment off them anymore! Nebraska best shut up if they know whats good for them. Of course if Nebraska did get kicked out they would just lie and spin it as though that is what they wanted all along. It would be no loss what so ever for the BIg 10 to get rid of Nebraska once and for all. I will now await to be told I am an idiot no doubt by the some of the same know it alls who told me that I was an idiot when I predicted months ago that the Nebraska season was not going to happen this fall.

And Nebraska tries to make a point -- not sure what that is though.

Nebraska AG believes Big Ten may have violated state's Nonprofit Corporation Act

The act says nonprofits can’t transact business in Nebraska without a certificate of authority from the secretary of state and the state has the right to revoke it. Peterson questioned whether the Big Ten has such a certificate and said it may be subject to civil penalties for a failure to comply

And the Huskers have been in the Big 10 for 10 years and only now they question if it has a certificate of authority. Big 10 could just say screw you... we don't need NU.

Well don't stop there, you predicted no season at all! And the only reason Nebraska isn't playing (yet) is the politically influenced big 10 brass. It's getting closer, the gripping anger of other conference members as they have to imminently watch the likes of the other big conferences play football. Which the players would do anything for. While they sit at home laying people off and slashing budgets and sports. Maybe it's because they know the 15k people in the country under the age of 55 that have died (with) covid19 is similar to those having died in car accidents. Maybe they know that of all these college kids that have recently contracted covid19, there are ZERO confirmed hospital admittals among them!

I like the new normal TBH. Was never a big socialite myself. Less people out, no social obligations, less eating out, more saving money has all been a big plus to me. Lets keep it rolling!

Let's clarify some key points that the Post embarrassingly failed to mention. The DII school he played at had cancelled all fall athletic competition. He was a football player but was apparently not participating in any pure football activities whatsoever. So essentially he became one of the 195 deaths (nationally) within the male age group of 15-24. For comparison, in 2018 per CDC, ~4950 males 15-24 committed suicide. Not to say one way or another, his playing weight was listed at 355 lbs.

He was really good. Makes me think about all the individual players that have been good, even though the team hasn't been. I'm down if anybody wants to play "name your all-2002-2020 Husker team" I'd be interested in seeing some of your lineups. I bet some of them are easily national championship caliber... If only they were all together.

Choose a 4-3 or 3-4 defense and whatever combo of DBs and Safeties

Choose one QB, and whatever combo of OLine, RB and WR

Choose a Punter, Kicker, and Kick Returner

Feel free to have co-starters if the decisions are tough.

Name coaching staff if wanted.
