The Royals pregame show on Fox Sports KC pretty much focused on Nicky. Creighton got a least 2 mentions.

First AB tonight for Lopez, the only extra base hit by a lefty against Minor this year.

Rumor that Starling could be promoted as early as today.

Took a little longer than expected. Cool he got to play in the AAA All Star game before going. Might have been due to fact that he can not be returned to Omaha without going through waivers (since he has been in minors so long).

Starling draws a walk at his first at bat, and comes around to score a few batters later.
The fourth Royal to do so at his first MLB AB.
Second AB Starling goes 3-0 and then strikes out.
Third AB a grounder to second.

Wouldn't it be a plate appearance and not an at bat since he drew a walk

Two hit Whit just made the Royals 100th inside the park HR.
I hope that someone posts that on YouTube.
He was called out initially, but upon further review...

Diekman from Wymore is traded to the A's the same day as Huskers Day at the K.
O'Hearn called up from Omaha and is starting 1B tonight.

I am glad O'Hearn is being given another shot. Might as well find out and play him the rest of this season.

Long ago and far away, that team was the old Denver Bears. I can remember listening to them on the radio playing the Omaha Royals. This was when Tim Raines and Randy Bass played for the Bears.iamjacobm wrote: Tue Aug 27, 2019 12:42 amNew stadium on the river for them.Coyote wrote: Tue Aug 27, 2019 12:25 amNew Orleans is moving to Wichita.jag42 wrote: Tue Aug 27, 2019 12:21 am StormChasers' 2020 home sked released today. I don't think KC and Omaha will ever split but with Wichita in the picture now it will be interesting to see how hard Wichita tries to lure KC away from Omaha when player development deals come up.
Omaha has really never had a challenger that made financial and logistical sense and now you have another AAA team in the same Major League Market so it will definitely be something to keep an eye on.

It would be a possibility but still a long shot. Omaha is a bigger market (both Omaha and Wichita are part of KC's tv rights area) and a little closer. Wichita used to be KC's AA affiliate but it moved to NW Arkansas. KC just extended Omaha earlier this year through 2022.cp jay 07 wrote: Tue Aug 27, 2019 3:04 pm I don't think KC and Omaha will ever split but with Wichita in the picture now it will be interesting to see how hard Wichita tries to lure KC away from Omaha when player development deals come up.

The Kansas City Royals are being sold. I wonder if this would change the dynamic between Omaha and Wichita.

Re: 2019 Omaha Storm Chasers / KC Royals
Interesting....wonder what might happen to the Chasers? The following is an ESPN link, but there is a link in the article to a Baseball America article, which states the PCL would go to 10 teams, while the other Triple-A league, the International League, would go to 20, so still 30 Triple-A teams.

Evidently. Plus a lot of good alternatives I would assume considering they settled for this.

If this goes through as proposed, and that's a huge if, Omaha would probably either have to move to the International League or drop down to a lower level of Minor League Baseball.jag42 wrote: Sat Oct 19, 2019 5:30 pm Interesting....wonder what might happen to the Chasers? I think this is only a starting point of negotiations though and there's a very strong chance that this will change.

No word on AAA realignment in this and if/how it would affect Omaha, but here are the 42 teams that could well be on MLB's hit list. I hate everything about this. MLB greed destroying small town affiliated minor league baseball.
Iowa could lose 3/5 of their affiliated minor league teams. Some of my favorite minor league memories include visiting small town teams like Burlington, Clinton, and Quad Cities. Iowa would only get to keep Cedar Rapids and Des Moines...

I have my doubts this happens. There is a whole bunch of members in congress upset on this, and MLB absolutely cherishes their anti trust exemption. I think you'd have a bunch of lawsuits from municipalities too based on some stadium expenditures.
If it does happen I think Omaha would end up with Des Moines and a bunch of other central US based AAA teams. Either as the International League West division or something gets worked out and they stay with the PCL.
