Well, I can tell you this, 15 of the 21 head coaches on your list have won at least one National Championship. Without looking it up, can you guess which ones those are?..

I’ll let you do the leg work on your 9 win question...

Incorrect..

Barry Alvarez and Bo Schembechler did not win National Championships as head coaches .. Replace them with Lou Holtz and Lavell Edwards and you have the 15..

You did get 13 out of 15 right. Good job overall :thumb: ...

Thanks. I could've sworn that Alvarez and Schembechler won national championships. I was thinking of the 1997 Michigan team that shared the national title with Nebraska. As for who won at least 9 games every year. For sure, Tom Osborne, Nick Saban, Urban Meyer, Jim Harbaugh and Bo Pelini all have or did.

Many people believe that Schembechler won a National Title at Michigan. He had some great teams, but never quite got over the hump. Alvarez had some good teams at Wisconsin too. But not one good enough to win a national championship. Alvarez, as you may know, played for coach Bob Devaney here at Nebraska back in the 1960’s. So he has Husker ties...

Yup, he turned Wisconsin into Nebraska. Or what Nebraska used to be and hopefully will be again under Scott Frost.

Technically inncorrect on Bo. He continued as a college football head coach and has multiple seasons at Youngstown St. with far fewer than 9 wins. (a D-1 program, albeit FCS)

I'd challenge any list that kept Bo on as a "9 wins every year of his career" guy. In fact, 4 of his 5 years there were .500 or lower.

Yes, that's true. Bo hasn't been as good at Youngstown State as he was at Nebraska. At Nebraska, he won at least 9 games every year. That's what I meant.

So, what's the point to that? Your list included multiple coaches that coached at multiple spots. It would be cherry picking just to look at roughly half of Bo's resume and ignore his mediocre recent stint with another program. I don't know what the point of this is. But, the fact is Bo's collegiate coaching record at the D-1 level is 100-55 and that includes 5 seasons at Youngstown St. with a record of 33-28, including 4 seasons under 9 wins. Them's the facts. So, you do have to take him off of your list and whatever point you were trying to make here.

You know, Nick Saban didn't do so great at Michigan State. Should he be taken off the list, too?

Uhmm. This makes no sense. Saban didn't even win 9 games his first year at Alabama and, yes, failed to win 9 games at MSU. So, by very definition, he doesn't fit on any list of coaches that won 9 games every year....and neither does Bobo.

Feels like cherry picking not to look at a coaches entire career...
