Temps definitely hard-pressed to reach 50 later on in the 7 day forecast... Supposed to be mostly sunny too. I personally love it.

I wayyyy prefer a wind chill over a heat index, big time.

I head we may be in for a snowflake or 2 this coming Monday..

Waaay too soon for that stuff imo lol..

Need more 65 degree highs with 40-45 degree lows. That’s perfect mid October weather...

Hasn't technically recorded a 32 degree low yet, but a string of very close calls (33,34,34) coming starting tomorrow night. Some spots throughout the metro could easily get to 32 or below. Might not officially be a freeze at Eppley, but this weekend should effectively be the metro's kill date. But still waiting on records to confirm or deny. Otherwise it looks like the tides have turned with highs in the forecast period struggling to reach 60. Things could always change after that, though.

Our first actual freeze is forecast for Saturday morning of 10/24, so a little bit late. But we got down to 33 or 34 the last couple nights and it did snow a little bit. And the rain basically froze to my greenhouse last night, so really just a technicality for it to get to 32 or below at Eppley.

True to form, after being teased with a mid 70’s High temp day Thursday, the highs bottom out to low-mid 40’s for about a week..Temps more akin to 30 days from now..not the last 12 days of October..

It looks like we will get that first first freeze before the end of October after all...

May not be the nicest weather recently, but we've gotten a little of our much needed rain. Not a lot - .69" in the last 9 days - but that's a lot more than we could speak of from this summer... And it looks to continue precipitating all week. Will be nice to get some moisture back before it is freezing.

Hearing conflicting things about tomorrow. A few days ago I was hearing upper 70's from both KETV and the NWS. Last night KETV was saying mid 70's, while the NWS was saying upper 60's. Now I wake up today and the NWS is saying lower 60's and KETV is saying upper 60's...

Now the NWS has taken it back even further to 57. In a matter of ~ two days, it has gone from 78 to 57... So much for that one warm day this week haha. Wonder how it changed that much that quickly.

Not only that, but our predicted high of 57 is now projected to drop throughout the afternoon and by 6pm, we’re projected to be at 43..

Some real cold, gloomy weather ahead for the next few days. I hope we can rebound to more seasonal temps soon...

Looks like the warm weather moved to the east of us today. I noticed it was 75 in Chicago this afternoon and low 80’s in KC. Our weather this week has been pretty bad but the precipitation has been welcome. Still wondering if we will get measurable snow Sunday.

It has been a little cold, but today was totally my kind of weather. I love the drizzle, I love the low 40's, and I love firing up my greenhouse stove at night. All just great in my opinion.

KETV predicted this morning, that from Sunday evening until Monday AM, the Omaha metro will receive anywhere from 2-5 inches of snow..

I hope, like the rain over the summer, this frozen stuff misses us (although I never hope for no rain)...

It does still seem too early for that much snow, even though we need the moisture badly. That need should soften the blow, if the snow does happen.

The weather looks to be making a turn for the better-

Starting Saturday the 31st and basically all of next week, highs in the 60-67 range. Perfect late October..early November Fall weather and very welcome- after that pretty unusual Arctic blast of winter like weather the last few days :thumb: ...

This is a welcome sight. I can't remember another year where we have had so many consecutive days far below average and multiple days below freezing this early. Sure, we have gotten early snowfall in October or a cold day or two, but usually it is just that, a day or two and then its back into the 50's and 60's.

I see that KETV is forecasting, starting this Tuesday (Election Day), we’ll have 3 consecutive days of high temps in the 70’s.. Halloween Day Saturday is shaping up to be nice with highs in the mid 60’s.. Looks like a car wash Saturday for sure..

Love it!...

Lot of Ice to our West, Northwest, and North. Lots of photos out there.

Here in town, I am at 1.5" in the past 24 hours. Not bad.

I am not sure it is going to be that substantial. According to channel 7 they stated that between .25 and .50 inch. For this year, that is a substantial amt but normally I wouldn't call that substantial. Granted, it is much needed moisture. :)

Man that really fizzled out on us. We've had .47" thus far with not much more left to be had. The heavier rain is marching almost exactly parallel to I-80 from Lincoln to Omaha but not showing many signs of moving north of there.

Looks to be we are entering a solid stretch of actual cold weather with temperatures bottoming out well into the 20's every night of the forecast period. Before now it was spotty, but finally has become solid. Daytime temperatures won't be terrible.

Might actually end the lawn mowing season. I mowed again yesterday 11/28, only to mulch up leaves, but the grass had definitely grown in the past week because I was cutting a little off the top.

It needs to rain or snow! Man it is frickin' dry! My skin and lips are telling me how little moisture we've had recently/this season/this year. Looks like an unimpressive chance for something Friday, but we really need a dumping of rain or snow. We're way overdue.
