I watched a bit of the morning news on 3 yesterday. I thought the new set looked pretty nice as well...

Nice set. Great graphics / look-and-feel. (Wonder if that's Scripps-standard?) Serese is hawt, always has been. Ditteaux Jennifer.

Channel 3 is broadcasting live from the news room tonight. They are broadcasting from there because the weather department is using the studio to help the sister substation in Lafayette LA.

Wondering where KETV meteorologist Laurann Robinson has been? By most accounts, she has not been on air there since about October 22nd..

She’s still listed on the KETV website and her Facebook page is still KETV- She’s posted a couple of non-work things recently and her followers have been asking countless times where she’s been/if she left KETV or Omaha.. She has yet to respond to anyone..

My guess is, she’s on the verge of bailing on Omaha just like Molly Bernard did a few months back.. Funny note to that- KETV never found a replacement for Molly. If Laurann bolts, they’ll surely need to address the loss of 2 meteorologists..

Has anyone heard any word?...

I was surprised that they ran with 5 meteorologists. Although Laurann wasn't fully certified until last fall. I miss Chuck McWilliams. He was always most accurate.

Perhaps she's been on self quarantine or had a positive test. Her being elusive is odd though.

Yeah, I had thought about the possibility of a positive Covid test or self quarantine..

But her being elusive while still posting pictures etc on her Facebook page is odd indeed..

I hope it’s not Covid-19. I also think she may be on the verge of bailing on Omaha. We’ll see in due time I guess...

I think at this point, it could be COVID-19 or quarantining due to exposure..Which would be obviously terrible and hope she gets through it okay,. Or she’s preparing to bail Omaha for another market..

I highly doubt it’s a simple leave of absence. I mean just yesterday, she posted about 8 or so “cutesy” pics of her and her dog on her Facebook page. All signs are pointing to a move to a different market or a covid quarantine.. But she’s not talking so all we’re left with is to speculate...

I'd say based on her instagram, she is not sick, but rather back home in California... To visit or to stay, I don't know... But you'd think if she was leaving KETV something would have been said somewhere since its been this long.

It’s just odd..and she’s not talking at all..which is the usual pattern for these on air “personalities” when they’re about to bail Omaha for another market..

Not sure. But anything is possible. I doubt Laurann has been off air training someone. When they come to a mid major market like Omaha, they’re ready to hit the TV camera’s running..

Laurann is still not saying anything. So I have no clue why she has not been seen on air for a solid month now.. Last I checked, she’s still in Southern California which is where she’s from. My bet, still, is she’ll eventually bail on the Omaha TV market.. probably by the 1st of the year..

This entire situation surrounding Laurann Robinson is very, very odd..

How'd you like to spend the time going 6-8 years for a degree in Broadcast Meteorology, only to wind up in a bumfunk DMA...doing traffic? Mebbe she's got bux saved to the point she can wait for The Weather Channel or WeatherNation or AccuWeather?

This situation, as I stated earlier is odd. Very odd. I really think whatever the reason, we’ve seen the last of Laurann on air in the Omaha market..

If she all the sudden popped back up doing the noon weather on KETV after more than a month off air, I’d be very surprised...

Spitballing here, but I wonder if someone at 7 said the wrong thing, or the wrong context. The Weather Channel had two instances of this; look up Marny Stanier, then do the same for Bob Stokes.

That’s exactly what I’ve been saying likely happened for the past 10 days- Typical. Also typical she’s stopped interacting on social media with anyone from Omaha. She’ll resurface, in another television market likely after the 1st of the year- then become “social” again..

One thing that keeps me from being 100% certain about all this is- She’s still listed as employed by KETV on their web site..and she has not changed her KETV profile on FB as of yet..

Perhaps those updates are coming up after the Thanksgiving holiday...

I just want accurate forecasting more often than not. I don't care if they are jovial or cute.

Long ago, Ron Gerrard was actually pretty good.

Too many times nowadays I look at the online forecast, and get rained on on my early morning walks when the forecast said no rain.

Will they? They've been running on three meteorologists for at least a month now. I'd start to feel bad for Sean and Matt, cause you know Bills schedule, they are the clean up guys. They definitely need another person.

Appearance is a whole new discussion. You'd not see a 25 year old Roseanne Barr as a weather broadcaster or Cable news host, even if she were the most qualified.
