And even faster

Nebraska fills roster spot vacated by Kobe King with combo-guard Elijah Wood

https://www.omaha.com/sports/college/hu ... 0d702.html

Yeah I wonder what the deal was with King? Was it just that it didn't work out or was it Covid related? Will be interesting to see where he ends up. I do agree that's the fastest fill of a spot that I can remember.

Will also be interesting to see if we have a season, and if so, what are the odds they finish it?

America squandered our chances of having a college football season with our gross negligent stupid handling of the virus and it looks as if we are locked into our idiotic ways. The chances of the college basketball season starting only 100 days from now are slim and none. They are now hoping that we can have a college basketball season starting in January. I'm not so optimistic. At this point we will be lucky if we have a baseball season next spring.

Yeah I think based on what is happening with other countries have done, we obviously left room for improvement. I think winter/indoor sports like basketball and hockey are most at risk. There is talk of football possibly being moved to spring.

With basketball and hockey I don't think they can move it past winter if the fall sports move to spring.

I did find it interesting NU did this. I have UNO hockey season tickets, we not only got our invoices but we have already passed the deadline to renew (which I did, though I have my doubts about actually being able to watch a game, if games are still played).

Would like to see this, if for no other reason it gets Nebraska and Creighton in a field with UNO.

This is a great get for Hoiberg! I was really happy when we got his brother, this obviously was greatly aided by his brother being here and liking it.

Is this confirmed? Haven’t seen anything on it though assuming that might be because of McGowens signing overshadowing it.

It’s interesting with contact tracing it did not impact more within the program.

It does effect the depth upfront with Walker having to sit out.

Seriously? Remember this is a program that has lost to programs like and including Incarnate Word (when it happened people jokingly said we lost to Microsoft Word).

I know. It would not have surprised us last year if they did lose to McNeese St.

Nebraska is a 5 point favorite over Nevada today. Winning 2 games in a row was rare for last years team as well.

Nebraska set a school record with 32 missed 3 pointers. They made 9 of 41 for 22%

Nice 79-57 bounce back win over ND State.

With all those missed 3’s yesterday, it would have been great to have Andre and or Walker in the paint for rebounds. Today ND State got a bunch of rebounds.

Nebraska is now off for over a week. As much as I want to watch them, it will be great long term for them to now work on any issues the coaches identified by playing these 3 games in 4 days. With Nebraska playing in the toughest conference this year, they will need it.

Sorry, my error. Was listening to Kent call the game on Saturday. He started talking about the big layoff coming up with Nebraska not playing again until their game against South Dakota. The way he was talking about the extended break between games I took it as a wee from Tuesday not in a couple days......

NU wins 76-69 (at times it was a bigger spread) , but you absolutely called it on the 14 point spread being too high.

I am not sure I would ever be comfortable at this time or anytime recently for that matter having Nebraska and having to give 14 points.

Derrick Walker's suspension reduced from 16 to 14 games due to Covid shortened season. Barring any game cancellations, he should be back for Maryland game in January.

Any help will be needed in the grinder that is the Big 10 this year.

3 of the top 5 and 4 of the top 8 teams are in the league.

Nebraska basketball game against Florida A&M on Sunday canceled

The Huskers’ Sunday afternoon game with Florida A&M was wiped off the board Friday due to a COVID case for a Rattlers support staff member. FAMU canceled a Friday night game with South Florida, as well.

Too bad they didn’t have a little more notice. I wonder if UNO might have accepted if Nebraska was up for a game. I know they just played yesterday but makes you wonder with notice if UNO would have accepted.

For a a top notch legit basketball program like Creighton there is little risk of losing to UNO. For a sketchy bottom of the basement program like Nebraska to play UNO the risk of losing is fairly high. The problems that Nebraska would create by losing to UNO are huge. The number one problem is how bad the optics instate would be having a low budget UNO team beat a well funded Nebraska team that has a coach making millions. Oregon who was already in town offered to play Nebraska and coach Hoiberg was not having any part of signing up for that beat down. The last thing Hoiberg needs is to be adding anymore losses on to his record this season.

I had just heard about Oregon. Assuming NU did not want to go back-to-back-to back with Oregon, then Georgia Tech (who just beat Kentucky easily) then Creighton. Not sure if they would have been more game if they had one or both of their centers available. Through in the fact at how incredible the Big 10 looks and I understand.

Yeah Nebraska would definitely be much more at risk to lose to UNO than Creighton. I think this year though it would have been the least risky. With Covid and and all. I do still wish CU and Nebraska scheduled UNO every year. I understand why both are a little bit afraid of that game. It's just so much more interesting than the other small programs they each make a steady diet of.

The hype on the Big 10 looks like reality, or at least it did last night. Very rough conference schedule ahead for Nebraska. Scores from last night:

Iowa beats #16 North Carolina 93-80.
Illinois beats #10 Duke 83-68.
Penn State beats #15 Va Tech 75-55.
Rutgers beats Syracuse 79-69.
Ohio State beats Notre Dame 90-85.
Minnesota over Boston College 85-80.

Only loss was Purdue to Miami 58-54.

That's several wins over blue bloods, ranked opponents, and all are power 5 schools.

Wow.

Can someone point me to something other than a message board post about an Oregan Nebraska game? I have searched and found nothing and in fact found very little on message boards.

I am surprised that the Huskers are only a 1 1/2 point underdog to Georga T.
