Non-Local College Basketball in Omaha

Post by Uffda »

Thanks to Creighton, Dana Altman's Oregon Ducks are coming to Omaha this week

He didn’t get the Ducks-Jays matchup he’d hoped for.

But Altman is still coming back to Omaha to play two basketball games this week.

Oregon announced Monday it will take the floor at the CHI Health Center to face Missouri at 8 p.m. Wednesday and Seton Hall at 8 p.m. Friday. No fans will be permitted, outside of a limited players and coaches pass list. The games will be televised on FS1.

Interesting these two games are coming here. I'm sure its helpful Altman and Seton Hall are both familiar with Omaha and the arena and for Missouri its just up the road.

Between these games and the POD over at the Baxter Arena, cool for the Omaha sports scene even though fans are not allowed in.

With how much of an events town we are, I'm glad we're getting anything at all. So long as we can find a relatively safe way for events like this to occur, we should seek more of these opportunities this winter.

Apparently tonight's game is the 25th neutral site college basketball game in CHI Center Omaha history.

I get most of them. Someone remind me of the N Arizona situation for the two games Was it part of a four-team tourney?

No fans in the stands at the arena.. But at least Omaha gets some limited exposure nationally as those basketball games were televised on FS1..

So there’s that...
