This thing looks huge when driving west on Dodge. When the hotel is completed that corner will have great density.

So far this is my favorite project in Blackstone, these look great. Blackstone has changed so much in the past 3-4 years. Probably Omaha’s hottest urban neighborhood, at least as far as getting new stuff like residential and restaurants. The area always had a ton of potential.

Update on this one; it's done! The most interesting note is that they plan to have another glorified food court (food hall) in the ground floor, with up to 8 tenants. Additionally, Coolgreens, previously reported, and a yoga studio will fill other retail bays. With the Blackstone Hotel addition going up, this is a nice little area. Article also has a lot of pictures of the interior, both finished residential units and unfinished retail bays.

Looking Sharp

I was in the lobby for the apartments and also the food hall yesterday. Really sharp look inside and out on this. The fact that it's right on the street makes it feel more urban too. I was impressed.

Also, I was told the Cottonwood (the reason I was in the building) is trying to open by August.

Geraldine's pizza is described as a "Grandma Pie", a style of pizza that I have heard originated in Long Island, NY, typified by being baked in a rectangular baking sheet, and having a thicker crust. It is quite a bit different from the traditional, thin-crust New York style pizza that Noli's serves. As far as I know, no one else in Omaha is serving a grandma pie, so to me, this is a welcome addition to the Switch.

On Saturday's show Grow Omaha mentioned "The Switch" food hall has been purchased and will be re-branded "Camp", and will re-open in the fall of 2022.

Same. It was never very busy the few times I'd gone there. I think Cunningham's will better fulfill the "sports bar" spot for the area.
