Veridian Credit Union (76 & Dodge)

Post by Brad »

Earlier today I got a PM about Veridian Credit Union replacing that old run-down antique auction building at 76th and Dodge. I thought we already had a thread for that? May be we talked about it on Grow Omaha and I thought we talked about it on here?

I don't see any plans for it yet, but they definitely own it:

That will be great to see that building replaced, I always thought it looked so out of place.

This is definitely an upgrade for the area. Plenty more opportunities around there. Love to see this momentum. With Crossroads underway I bet we see a bunch more in the coming years.

I agree. I can't believe it didn't happen when they built Lowes...

There was an excavator delivered to this site. Assuming they will tear down the garage for parking, but I haven't read the plan. Or are they tearing down both buildings? Or is this still just unknown?

I drove by this today and yes they are currently demolishing the actual building. Haven't touched the garage, but I'd assume it will go too. Should probably be a nice new building to have in the area. Wonder if they will be required to have a face of the building right along Dodge.

I can't wait to see it...like I mentioned earlier, this building has been an eyesore on this stretch of Dodge for years.

Wait, so this has been planned for almost two years and none of us noticed until the fences went up? Wow, that's surprising. Nice to know there will be a wall against Dodge at least.

I couldn't find it anywhere on here, but I know for a fact it was mentioned on this forum or on the Grow Omaha Radio Show sometime a whole back.

This has gone vertical since Tuesday. I know its only a one-story bank building, but it has a good presence, and is taller than your typical one-story building.

Is it going to be similar to the other locations in the metro?

Edit:
Found that answer to that

The bottom one isn't exactly the one at 75th & Dodge. Where the vehicles are in that picture, there won't be parking lot area. I think that is just the template rendering. The building will be butted up against Dodge and the access road to the Lowe's, and it also appears the roof is inverted compared to that above rendering,

You can see what I mean here in this quick photo I took. This is the view looking Northwest. You can see that the short side of the roof is on the east, which is the opposite of the rendering above. Same look though, but flipped. Drive thru lanes are on the same side though.

Yes, that is correct, that is just the template design.

Quite the street presence on Eastbound Dodge.
