UNO adding men’s swimming program.
Nice article in the World Herald about UNO adding a men’s swimming program. It will be the only Division 1 Men’s swimming program in Nebraska, Iowa and Kansas. They will be offering just a few scholarships, the majority of the team will be walk-on’s. Ive seen the pool it’s a excellent facility and should help with recruiting. Overall this is good news for the school, city and state.

The number for men’s swimming scholarships for D1 teams I believe is still 9.9. There will for sure be walk-ons but it is a lot like baseball where athletes get split scholarships. Overall this is fantastic news, and it would be great if it led to replacing the current HPER center as it is only six lanes, is dated, and has no diving well.
