Michigan St is up to a 13 point favorite over the huskers tonight. I still like Michigan State to cover.
Yeah with Nebraska having been shutdown for about a month, I was expecting a 20 point, point spread.
Not surprisingly after long layoff, their shooting both 2’s and 3’s has been off. The only thing going Nebraska’s way is their defense is causing turnovers by Michigan State.

Nebraska’s defense keeps Michigan State from covering in a 66-56 loss at MSU.

Minnesota at home is a 10 1/2 point favorite tonight over the Huskers. Pretty good chance that Minnesota will cover.
Plus Teddy Allen not playing for not meeting internal expectations:
The Huskers lot again for a lot of reason but there were some positives as they closed the gap well into the second half. Think it was down to 7 with the ball.
For the record NEBUGEATER does not equal BUGEATER !!!!!!!

Yeah I thought there were definitely positives. As bad as things have been, they are still fighting. I know the w and l record is bad, but this team does pass the eye test. They seem to be so much more talented than the past few years. Too bad they had a shortened non conference schedule followed by playing in the best league then the Covid shutdown.

Next up Wisconsin will be in Lincoln Wednesday night. It would seem Wisconsin who is ranked 21 would come in and blow the Huskers off the court.

Wisconsin is favored by 11 points tonight over the Huskers. I think my 20 bucks on the Badgers should be pretty safe.
As suggested in recent media Wisconsin is not looking good even if they are ranked 21rst. The game was ugly and a rock fight but the Huskers were still hanging close at half time. The second half Wisconsin got ahead about 10 points and Nebraska couldn't cut the lead. Wisconsin would not have covered the 11 point spread if Nebraska had not shot so poorly at the end. From a bettors stand point the end of this game was very close.
Illinois plays in Lincoln Friday night and is a 15 point favorite. If Wisconsin playing poorly beat Nebraska by 13 you got to figure Illinois will cover that 15 point spread. Nebraska has not won a BIg10 game in over a year and there is no sign of them breaking that dry spell against 6th ranked Illinois.

They were talking on the broadcast the other night that because the games are so close together per NCAA rules they were allowed to practice in anticipation. Such a nightmare to deal with. Even if you could practice, would you? I imagine their legs are like jelly at times going from no games and limited movement (they were confined to hotel rooms on quarantine), to this.
Lucky for me it was a little too dicey to be driving clear over to the Casino yesterday or I might of bet on Illinois. Nebraska fought hard against this Illinois team that really did not look like a team that deserved to be ranked 6th. Nebraska could of won its first Big10 game in over a year. Tie game with less then 20 seconds left in the game and Nebraska had the ball. All they had to do was make a basket and the game was more then likely over. In epic stupidity the guy they pass the ball to at the end pathetically chokes and fails to even get a shot off. After that monumental goof the Huskers spirit was severely wounded and they laid down in overtime.

Wasn’t able to watch last night. Nice to see the team is still battling.
Nebraska is an 11 point underdog at Penn State today. Will the Huskers get their first Big10 Win in over a year? Not a chance. It seems a bit dubious that Penn State can cover that 11 point spread.

Hope they can keep the momentum.
I love the optimism but one win in 27 conf games is not really momentum
I just mean the effort over the last few games. Hope is really the best thing to come out of this season lol.
That is a good point. The effort has definitely been there. I have been encouraged with the defense. Between the competition this year in the Big 10, the essentially all new roster, the Covid disruption followed by this insane number of games jammed into this timeframe, I have been pleasantly surprised with the effort and body language.
Huskers pick up a commit from a Juno big man that won’t be here until 2022. Definitely has a Big 10 frame. Was starting to attract attention from good schools:
Nebraska is a 10 1/2 point underdog at Maryland tonight. The Huskers have been scratching and clawing the past 3 games so it does not seem likely that Maryland beats them by 11 points. Nebraska even has a chance at winning its second game in a row as Maryland is not all that good.

Will be interesting to see if the point spread is different tomorrow.
Can anyone remember if we have ever played the same team on back to back nights?

Maryland is an 10 1/2 point favorite tonight again over the Huskers. Not mush to say about that first game yesterday except that Maryland has enough superior talent to cover that spread again tonight.

At some point all of these games jammed into such a small time frame will catch up with NU. So far the energy and defense has been there. I liked the effort last night. Wondering if they have anything left for tonight?

Updated Schedule
Tuesday, Feb. 23: Penn State, 7 p.m. (BTN)
Thursday, Feb. 25: at Illinois, 6 p.m. (BTN)
Saturday, Feb. 27: Minnesota, 6 p.m. (BTN)
Monday, March 1: Rutgers, 6 p.m. (BTN)
Thursday, March 4: at Iowa, TBD (BTN)
Sunday, March 7: at Northwestern, TBD (BTN)
Just unbelievable the grind they are going through. Jamming so many games and obviously travel in. Wonder how many and I’d they are getting practices in.
Penn State comes to Lincoln tonight as a 6 1/2 point favorite. The only BIg10 team Nebraska has beat in the past year is now favored? Yes the Huskers are a stink fest of a team but Penn State is pretty ugly as well. I would bet on Nebraska getting those 6 1/2 points.

Should be interesting, the Huskers might have got practice time in and a little rest.
