I don't imagine the short duration will be taken well by many unless there is also an announcement on what McDermott is going to do to learn/improve/etc. going forward... or something.

Wow..

Just read the W-H article on Mac’s reinstatement. Nothing to note in the W-H piece..but I am surprised. My inclination is that his suspension would carry at least through the Big East Tournament and possibly through the rest of this season..Then the administration would re-evaluate Mac after the season ends..

It appears now, with this action, Creighton is fully behind Coach Mac and feels his apology and actions after the leak broke, are enough to justify rolling with Coach moving forward.. I hope this is enough, and the CU basketball program, athletic department and University will move forward..and be an example of how we can learn from mistakes, become better from them, and strengthen bonds..

We shall see...

The feeling I got is that most former and current players understand Mac and this isn't a regular occurrence with him. They truly feel that his apology was heartfelt and that he is going to use this as a teaching moment for himself and everyone else around him. I think that if they felt different, the suspension would have lasted longer. His words are in no way inexcusable, but if handled correctly this may be one of those situations where a bad thing into something positive.

Good points all around.

I also like how the ESPN article that they just put out about the reinstatement included the quote from Zegarowski, it provides some good context to how, hopefully, most of the players feel.

Pretty much exactly where I thought they’d be. I see Villanova dropped to 14th...

I am really surprised that Butler came back from 19 down. I think I like Creighton's chances against Butler more than against Xavier.

I think with Ziggy’s game peaking at the right time, and the perimeter shots getting knocked down, the Jays should come out on top...

Creighton is a 10 point favorite over Butler today. Creighton might win by 20 or they might just get beat. I would take Creighton but its not a safe bet by no means.

Wow that is crazy that Nova lost yet again. Not so crazy they lost without their PG, but the fact that they were up 11 in the 2nd half and lost to Georgetown. (who by the way shot 23-23 from the FT line)

Hope it doesn't come down to that for the Jays, because as we know our FT shooting is horrendous.

Sucks that TyTy backed out...not that this wasn't somewhat unexpected.

I just hope that the Jays can keep the other 2 recruits they have for next year.

Bummer since his father seemed to be more positive and receptive of Greg's apology, but sadly not too unexpected, I am just surprised it took this long.

This whole incident is going to prove very difficult for Creighton in the coming years as teams will be able to tee off on this for negative recruiting. If Greg can't shake this, he won't be an effective recruiter, and thus.... I don't know. This just sucks. I was really hoping that some of the stories from former players would have made the case, but it is what it is.

What a great first half by the Jays. Other than DJ and AOC colliding, Jays up 42-26 and shooting 18-27. DJ has 14 already and everyone has scored except for Ballock. Lets keep it rolling and rest the starters later hopefully.

Now that was a damn good game. Incredibly sharp, focused, and aggressive. If I could see this Jays team for the rest of the year, I'll be incredibly happy.

Who would have guessed that we win by 31? Z has looked great these past few games. We had 65 pts and hadn't even shot a FT until 7 min to go. Also good to see the starters get some rest, especially in a tournament. The bench played really well tonight.

Bouknight might have gotten hurt, he left at halftime with cramps, when you aren't playing regularly like he hasn't been, it is really tough on your body.

UCONN didn't shoot particularly well, especially from 3.

Slow start by the Jays.. But nice toughness and versatility by the Jays..and they fought back- DJ especially played great in the 1st half.. Hopefully their perimeter game comes together in the 2nd...

Great grit by the Jays in this game. They didn’t have their perimeter game tonight.. Ziggy was clutch. For me though, the Jays MVP was DJ- 14 points, 12 rebounds- double-double.. DJ was the grit-master tonight..
