Yep.. TONS of brackets busted today, lol.. Low seeds defeating high seeds everywhere..

Again, this makes our Jays win as a high #5 seed even more sweet..as we avoided the upset..As usual, in the NCAA Tournament, anything can happen..and usually does.. I’m just glad the Jays are still Dancin’...

Ciao..LiO...Peace
Just saw that this is the first time 4 teams seeded #13 or higher advance to the round of 32. Abeliene Christian gets their first NCAA Tourney win.

I'm still on cloud nine at 11:35 about how much mental fortitude the Jays showed today to win when it looked like the game might have been going south.
I’m right there on that cloud with you. The Jays, obviously, didn’t play their best game..but still won a grind it out rock fight against a UC Santa Barbara team that is likely more of a 7 or 8 type seed than a 12..

Like we talked about earlier- if the Jays could just find their perimeter game..and shoot with average consistency..they’ll be a tough out in this Tournament...

Well, for what it’s worth, at least it’s not Butler the Jays are playing..

Fingers crossed 🤞...

And now another from the “mighty” Big 10 goes down as Loyola upsets #1 seed Illinois..

The bracket busting continues..as does the busting of the Big 10 conference in this tournament...

Creighton is a 5 point favorite over Ohio tomorrow. This Covid version of the tourney being held in one place with no fans isn't quite right but its better then nothing. It is going pretty good considering that so far we have only had one team that had to forfeit the tourney due to the "V." At this point I would not bet on Creighton to even win it. Lets go with Creighton to win over Ohio and make it to the sweet 16 where they are promptly blown out by Gonzaga. Gonzaga then goes on to win the Championship.

The way this tournament’s been going, I completely agree..

The Jays need their perimeter shooting and defensive intensity to come through this afternoon..a la Villanova’s performance last night...

Definitely hoping for a Villanova type performance this evening, as long as Ohio doesn't have a Los Angeles Lakers type performance as well.

The amount of double digit seeds advancing has just been nuts this year, I can't remember ever seeing chaos like this in the bracket. I kinda figured with the virus and what not, we'd see a strange tourney, but I didn't expect this.

Saw this on the news last night..

I always appreciate the enthusiasm and passion John Bishop brings to CU basketball. He’s an excellent radio play by play voice of the Jays.. And you can tell he has missed that in game team/crowd interaction and atmosphere..

Let’s hope next season, we can start seeing things get back to “normal”.. Whatever “normal” morphs into being for the 2021/2022 college basketball season...

Iowa showed up in true form. No one outside of Garza played well. They had 3 starters that didn't even score. Hard to win a game let a alone a game trying to advance to the Sweet 16 with no scoring from 3 starters.

Congrats to Altman, that game wasn't even that close.

Wow, what a last 15 min of the 1st half. Down 16-19, the Jays went on a 23-5 run. Z is on fire and Bishop is playing really well after he came back from the bench.

Yes, still shaking.

And yes, crazy that nothing. They still are talking about Luka Garza all the time... :x
They finally showed the highlights 10 min later. None of them had the Jays advancing past the first round.

Yeah, when they finally showed the Highlights they were all seemingly prepared for a Ohio win so they had nothing to say. Katz even chimed in "Why wasn't he T'd up?"

Jays vs the World, beat Zaga.

I laughed in the post game interview with Ziggy and he was asked what he thought about Gonzaga..and Z responded “nobody’s exposed them yet”.. Love the swagger..

The national media can think this is a David vs Goliath matchup between the Jays and Gonzaga.. The reality is- it’s a 5 seed going up against a 1.. Not a monumental upset if it were to happen. The national media still must think CU is a Missouri Valley team sneaking their way in as a 12 or 13 seed...

Creighton was luckier then lucky to draw those two lame opponents for their first two games but the luck has run out. Oddsmakers have Gonzaga as a 13 1/2 point favorite in Sundays noon game against Creighton. Gonzaga looked good today against Oklahoma. Oklahoma played pretty good but Gonzaga was a machine. 6ft 10 Gonzaga player Drew Timme is the best center I have seen in the tourney. Timme is the heart of their team. Gonzaga is the best team in the tourney. A $10 dollar bet on Creighton to win the game wins you $70. I do not recommend making that bet. Creighton might cover though. This looks like a good game not to bet on to me

Big 10 was a disaster in the tournament. Even today an overrated Iowa got throttled. 1 team makes the sweet 16, hilarious. Likewise the PAC 12 was extremely underrated coming into the tournament.

And to provide additional context- the “mighty” Big 10 had 9 teams make this tournament and only one has advanced to the Sweet 16..

The Big East had 4 teams invited in and 2 have advanced to the Sweet 16..

Big 10 overrated? I think this speaks for itself  ...

2. It's really pretty cool to see 10 conferences have at least one representative in the Sweet 16.

I am glad that my claim that the Big 10 was overrated came to light. They are all decent teams, but clearly not amazing like all the talking heads thought.

Nice point about 10 different conferences being represented in the Sweet 16. I wonder what the record is.

Jays still not getting love from ESPN

https://www.espn.com/mens-college-baske ... d-sweet-16

Bulletin board material:
A deflating 73-48 loss to Georgetown in the Big East tournament title game seemed to suggest the Bluejays had lost a step after a turbulent stretch late in the season. Then they beat UC Santa Barbara in the opening round of the NCAA tournament -- but only after the Gauchos ended the game with a series of mishaps in the one-point loss. That tilt could have gone either way. Monday's 72-58 win over Ohio, which had defeated Virginia on Saturday to advance, was legit and a positive step, as Marcus Zegarowski (20 points) led five players who registered double figures in scoring. Jason Preston, Ohio's star point guard, finished 1-for-10 with four points, so it was a solid defensive effort for Greg McDermott's squad. Still, the best thing Creighton has done in the past month is beat UConn on March 12, in a game during which Huskies guard James Bouknight couldn't make a shot.
As for Bouknight not making a shot, they could probably give some credit to the Jays' D. They have also shut down the 2 guards in the tournament so far that all the media keeps hyping about.

All I will say is consider the source and look at this Twitter posts in conjunction. It will become very, very clear why he has rated the Jays so low on his 'list' throughout the Tourney. Whatever happens though, I have a feeling this group of players isn't going to let talking heads sway them one way or another, which is fantastic.
