There was a route publicly floated by Metro that was to start at the North Omaha Transit Center, take Sorensen PKWY to 90th, 90th down to Maple, then Maple all the way out to 168th. The purpose of the route would have been to get people from North Omaha to the many jobs along West Maple in the morning, and back in the evening. That is the last new route that I've seen talked about by Metro.ita wrote: Mon Sep 16, 2019 9:22 am I was wondering what routes you all think can be improved or added to the bus system?
There are several "new" routes I've though of over the years. I'll tell you which ones make the most sense to me right now.
-Extend Route 11 along Pacific from Aksarben Village to Sterling Ridge (in the future to Heartwood Preserve/144th & Dodge).
-Create a new route (I would call it Route 17) that would take riders from South Omaha Transit Center, then travel west on Harrison out to Southport.
-Bring back route 48 in some form, which used to go from UNMC, along Saddle Creek, South 50th, and south 48th.
-Bring back the South 90th/84th/F/108th/Harrison portion of Route 5
-Bring back route 28 which would go from UNMC to Westroads via 52nd and Blondo
Then After ORBT starts, there are several completely new routes that could potentially be opened up due to ORBT:
-Bring back route 22 -or- use new routes to serve portions of the old 22, such as:
-A new route that would go from Westroads to L Street Marketplace via Miracle Hills and 120th.
-A new route that would go from Westroads to Village Pointe via Blondo, North Park, and 168th.
-A new route that would go from Westroads to Heartwood Preserve and serve all the West Dodge Access Roads.
-A new route that would go from Westroads to 168th and West Maple via Blondo, North Park, and West Maple.
