Village Inn & Fantasy's

I see they're knocking down the Village Inn on 144th & Oakview and the Fantasy's mini mart on 144th & Hillsdale.
Anybody know why?

Grow Omaha said that the old VI is being renovated into office space for Eye Care West, which is currently a couple blocks west on 147th & W Center. I'm not sure about the Casey's.

The building permit says renovation. Must really wanted to get away from the Village in look.

I'm not sure about the Casey's.

That particular Casey's was a dump. The permit says its a new Casey's, so it was probably easier to tear down and start over.

144th and Hillsdale was the store that I trained at when I worked at Fantasy's. It was kind of a weird setup with the restaurant bay on the South side. The store they really need to level to the ground and rebuild is 156th and Harrison.

Chatted with that Casey’s manager when I went in before it closed... the shelves were bare. Yes they are building a new Casey’s. He said it would be a flagship store and re-open in August.

It should be a “normal” Casey’s with pizza and etc.

That old Fantasy's / Casey’s needed to go.

The new Loves on 144th & Cornhusker is a nice facility. Casey’s should have remodeled sooner
