Nope, I wondered the same thing at first since they were lettering it. The top is black now too.skinzfan23 wrote: Mon Apr 27, 2020 2:12 pm Thanks for the photos. Are they going to leave the top part white?
I think the red is too dark on the black. Not sure the NC logo or the GBR word will be seen at all other than in, direct, full sunlight.

Per the Grow Omaha show this Saturday, construction is starting on a Tory Burch and Tacova (boots) stores. I was not familiar with either brand, but NEX continues to get new to market retailers.

Tacova is kind of a big get based on the few physical locations they have and where they are located.ita wrote: Tue May 12, 2020 6:38 pm Per the Grow Omaha show this Saturday, construction is starting on a Tory Burch and Tacova (boots) stores. The guys mentioned it is one of the first brick and mortar locations out of Texas, where the company is HQ'd. Similar to untuckit, it sounded like it is a digital native company making moves to brick and mortar, and NEX has a way to landing these type of retailers.nebugeater wrote: Tue May 12, 2020 7:47 pmTacova is kind of a big get based on the few physical locations they have and where they are located.ita wrote: Tue May 12, 2020 6:38 pm Per the Grow Omaha show this Saturday, construction is starting on a Tory Burch and Tacova (boots) stores. The first outside of TX is in Oklahoma City. It opened only a few months ago. The ae in Austin, Houston, Dallas, Plano, and San Antonio. I think a couple of the Tx locations are less than a year old.ita wrote: Tue May 12, 2020 8:13 pmThe guys mentioned it is one of the first brick and mortar locations out of Texas, where the company is HQ'd. I heard a rumor that Local Beer Patio & Kitchen at the outlet mall is trying to get out of their lease. They feel they're being gouged and that the mall management misrepresented foot traffic and whatnot. Anyone know?

Re: Nebraska Crossing Outlet Mall(Gretna)
That is one side of the story and probably holds some weight. There is the Mall's side that claims there are issues with LBPK holding to their end of the contract too. Probably truth there too. I understand there are lawsuits filed each way. Of course, that is all word of mouth and not fact. I can say from personal experience that when I have been there the service has been beyond poor so not sure why they would expect to have people return often.ChadJK wrote: Tue Jun 23, 2020 6:53 pm I heard a rumor that Local Beer Patio & Kitchen at the outlet mall is trying to get out of their lease. Have only been to one of these once and while I didn't have bad service, I was not impressed and would not make it a return trip. That said, I am not sure I would eat at any of the places in that mall. Especially given that you are close to Parkers, and Azteca's.nebugeater wrote: Tue Jun 23, 2020 8:34 pmThat is one side of the story and probably holds some weight. On Grow Omaha last Saturday, they said that in a month, 2 new to market, national retailers would be announced. And that people would be very pleased with the brands. Has anyone heard who they might be? If I remember correctly, Johanna Boston told me once that they were hoping for net Nordstrom Rack or West Elm at some point.

Re: Nebraska Crossing Outlet Mall(Gretna)
From the Grow Omaha 7/22/2021 - Weekly Market Report: “This We’ll Defend” – Grunt Style, a San Antonio-based online retailer of patriotic apparel, is opening its first-ever bricks-and-mortar location at Nebraska Crossing near Interstate 80 and Highway 31. The soft opening is planned for July 28th with an official grand opening August 20th. The retailer’s slogan is “Pride in self, in military and in country.”
Also at NEX – Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming has opened its first Nebraska location at Nebraska Crossing. Woof Gang is a leading specialty retailer of pet food, pet supplies and professional grooming. The Orlando-based company has 150 locations primarily in the southeastern United States. The closest previously existing location to Omaha was in Kansas City.”
So it doesn’t seem like those ‘big gets’ are headed this way just yet… And with a ton of these pop-ups and new small vendors at NEX, it’s feeling like these upscale retailers will be looking at Heartwood Preserve, Avenue One, (or even Village Pointe) eventually. Who really knows what the next 3-5 years brings as those projects start their big retail pushes.

Re: Nebraska Crossing Outlet Mall(Gretna)
I just don't get the love for Nordstrom Rack. Granted, I've only been to one a few times (Potomac Mills Outlet Mall), but it was probably the junkiest, messiest, most disorganized store at this particular mall---and depressing, too. So what if you can buy a dress shirt marked down from $99 to $59, it's still too expensive. They have lots of odd stock that didn't sell at their regular stores. The mall near me at work has a regular Nordstrom's, but why should I pay $99 for a shirt when I can buy the same exact shirt from the same factory in Asia for $49 at the L.L. Bean store in the same mall (I wait for them to go on sale for $39 or less). You're just paying for a label. A 'first quality' white Oxford dress shirt is a "first quality' white Oxford dress shirt; lots of decent stores sell them. A friend of mine who used to be a buyer for Saks clued me in on how it all works.

Will be interesting on the new construction. Are they going to jam it into the existing area, or are they going into the fields around it? Also are they getting any public money for this? Gretna has been incredibly generous with incentives here (obviously it appears to have paid off as this place has been incredibly successful).

I don't remember what I was looking at or listening to before, but when they first started talking about expanding a while back, it sounded like out buildings where current surface lots are. Plans could have changed since then, though.Greg S wrote: Tue Aug 24, 2021 1:59 pm Will be interesting on the new construction. Yeah that's kind of what I was afraid of. Last time they expanded that's what they did. I don't think they really have any parking spots to spare do they? I would say the biggest drawback of that place is lack of parking and it looks like they are going to make it worse.ita wrote: Tue Aug 24, 2021 2:14 pmI don't remember what I was looking at or listening to before, but when they first started talking about expanding a while back, it sounded like out buildings where current surface lots are. NEX doesn't seem to be acquiring new land for any new development. They just bulldoze existing parking to add more buildings. I hope this isn't the case this time.

With how they're building I could easily see a garage in their future. Surprised there hasn't been one yet.

That’s the obvious answer if they can’t acquire more land. I flat out don’t see Yates spending to build one. I definitely think he’d expect Gretna/taxpayers to foot the bill on it.Garrett wrote: Tue Aug 24, 2021 8:10 pm With how they're building I could easily see a garage in their future.
