We’ll see, that’s for sure- Sarpy is indeed the fastest growing county in the state..Erik wrote: Mon Aug 16, 2021 6:53 pmIf these employers keep setting up shop in Sarpy County to attract from both metro areas like they have been, you will see it at some point.Omaha Cowboy wrote: Mon Aug 16, 2021 6:12 pmGiven that dynamic, the 10% number I was told a couple of days back isn’t as far fetched as it seems. I think the definition you’re giving is correct. That gives a glimmer, albeit a slight glimmer of hope for the idea.. I’m still not holding out hope it happens in my lifetime however, lol…Erik wrote: Mon Aug 16, 2021 4:37 pm How it works is the total percent of work commuters (not population) from one county or core city within a county to any and all counties from another MSA.
Last census had Lincoln at 7.4% and that was talked about rather heavily as to why it wasn't included in the CSA.

Sarpy County is currently the "central point" for employers (especially Gretna, 370, 144th, I-80 etc) and is advertised as such. A large number of new employment opens along these areas.
Omaha grew by basically 12% this past decade, adding nearly 103,000 residents. This is very healthy growth.. I have a feeling this decade, Omaha may be poised for even more explosive growth..especially if what is proposed to be built on the western edge of our core within the medical related job arena, Omaha could be adding up to 17,000 professional, medical related jobs within the next 3-7 years..people move where the opportunity takes them. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Omaha grow at 15-17% clip this decade if what is proposed on the horizon, becomes reality..
