That’s because the TV food has makeup artist/stylist. :D :D :D I use to show this video to my students when we talked about advertising. There are a lot more on YouTube showing food stylists and different food.

I saw that once in school. I was quite surprised at what they did to make food look so good, yummy and irresistible.

Yeah, as someone who worked in the kitchen from time-to-time during high school, their buns are definitely toasted. I couldn't imagine eating a burger without it that way. You made the right choice.

Yeah, they really have nothing good compared to what they used to. I used to love the spicy tendercrisp with cheese and bacon. They got rid of the buffalo sauce before I left and last I checked the tendercrisp is |expletive| compared to what it used to be.

I wish they still had their chicken tenders. I really liked those. In 2011, they discontinued them for nuggets.

Ok cool. I honestly never noticed they were toasted but when I saw the sign I figured it might be a bid deal if they were warning you up front.

They sure were. Although sometime around 2008-2009, they changed them to crown shaped. I didn't particularly care for that. I thought it was a little too "kiddie-style" for me. It was like they fixed something that wasn't broken. I preferred their chicken tenders as just plain old strips.

I was surprised to see chicken fries are still a thing, haven't had them in a while. Well, so as you can see, I used to love BK, but they'be gotten rid of most the stuff I liked so I don't go there often.
I loved BK's chicken tenders from the 80s/90s. Better than McNuggets, imho. I don't do their burgers at all, but the Original Chicken sandwich is still good.

That's exactly what I was talking about. Those chicken tenders. The ones that were just plain old strips instead of crown shaped ones. That's what I miss. I wish BK still had those. But instead of only 8, they sell 10 like they currently do with their nuggets.

My personal fave was their Chicken Parmesan sandwich.

I think if they still had mozzarella cheese slices they could make it... the marinara sauce seems to taste an awful lot like their cheese stick dipping sauce. Of course, I think I remember it tasting that way... I've ordered their cheese sticks at different stores over the past few years and I think was given sauce once.

Looks like the writing was on the walls years ago... ! LOL

I used to go to the Burger King on 48th and Holdrege in Lincoln on a regular basis. And I never had any problems there. Not once. They were always friendly toward me.

100% Accurate!..

In fact, we’ve been so “taken aback” by the volume of “Burger King” talk on the forum, Brad and I jokingly considered creating a “Burger King” sub forum  ..

Who knew a national fast food joint like BK (of all places) roused such emotions :lafcry:

I honestly don’t understand why people in the Omaha metro would really consider Burger King when one craves a fast food burger..

I’ll take Don & Millie’s, Runza or Broncos ANY day over the sh!t BK puts out..and, for maybe another buck or so, I’ll call a place like Omaha Tap House for a fantastic take out burger with much better sides..

People being up and arms about Burger King and it’s quality cracks me up in laughter.. I can’t remember the last time I wasted my time ordering anything at a BK.. Perhaps it was 5 years ago  .. Even longer at a disgusting McDonalds…

Ciao..LiO…Peace
I'll take burgers on my grill over all of the above...LOL! :D

But seriously, I don't disagree with you. I avoid all the chains including BK when possible...those I'm with dictate the choice to go there unfortunately. :x

I just personally find it interesting the ones here have been allowed to fall into such disrepair compared to other chains yet somehow haven't gone out of business entirely. Almost makes you suspicious how they're staying afloat at all. At least most of the dumpier Wendy's locations around town actually closed up.

Usually if I am doing BK or any fast food it's when I don't have a ton of time. If I am home I will almost always grill. If it's after hours and I want a burger I will go more for a local place.

I do a lot of fast food when I am out and about at lunch from work and just want something quick to eat at my desk. Or between activities on the weekends.

I could participate in this type of discussion on any fast food place.

I do wish Bronco's would add their discussed 3rd location. They seemed to have gone silent on that from earlier in the year.

I know someone trashed McDonald's on here. I will say I still crave their fries every now and then. Their quarter pounder with cheese that's now made with fresh not frozen patties is a huge improvement. I also still like their very basic cheeseburger.

In their monthly "newsletter" last week, they said:
"Many local small businesses have had to reduce their hours and services or closed entirely due to a lack of employees. Because of this, it's not feasible for us to launch a third location right now. We need to hire staff for our current locations now.

We know things will get better and more and more people will be able to join the workforce and these issues are temporary.

In the meantime, we're focusing on improvements in and around our restaurants. We've also just launched our newly revamped website. What do you think?"

Can't say I'm surprised. The last couple times we've wanted to go to Culvers, they've only had their drive thru open as they don't have staff for dining inside.

I like Bronco's new website.

Alright ......so here is what is really going on at the Burger Kings around town. I was told the problem is Burger King won't pay its employees. We are not talking about low pay we are talking about no pay. Many employees around town have not been paid and have quit and this has been going on for months. The story is when pay day comes people are not getting paid. When employees ask why they are not getting paid they are strung along with the old "were having trouble with our computers in the payroll department" trick. After a couple missed checks even the biggest of suckers quit. Word is the problem is still going on. God knows I have had that trick pulled on me a few times.

So in short Burger King can't make payroll half the time!

Tri City Foods is having bigger problems outside of their Omaha BK.

Chicago stores fined by labor board.

It's hard for me to believe this. The news did the story on the one in Lincoln a month or so ago and they mentioned bad conditions and poor support. If BK was having issues here locally making payroll it would be all over the news.....

Yes it is hard to believe a bunch of rich guys who can afford to own Burger King franchises can not afford to pay their employees. To be honest it was I that came up with the conclusion that they could not afford to make payroll. I was told that the story Burger King is pedaling to staff is that they are having payroll department problems or computer problems. It was I that concluded that Burger King is lying to its employees and that the real problem is they are broke. That being said I think my theory has a lot going for it and I'm sticking with it.

Oddly enough the person who told me this information ended by saying that Burger King is lucky that this has not made the news.....yet.

That's the thing about forums, blogs and social media. You can't tell if someone's joking or not. They don't have any tone, no emotion. So there's really no way to know.

No other restaurant chain I know of smells so good when you drive by with your windows down, but tastes so disappointing if you go against your better judgment and actually order their food.

It’d say that’s a fair and balanced account of most people’s experience if they make the mistake of dining at one of Burger King’s 8,000,000 million locations in the US (McDonald’s too, minus the smell) :lafcry:

Maybe they weren't busy because they were out of something important... like BEEF!?! LOL

That's a joke (but could possibly be true given their recent track record).

Thinking ahead...

When Amazon opens their 3...4..? distribution facilities the staffing problems in restaurants and retail will get worse before it gets better. Problem with Amazon is they usually only have part time positions to sidestep having to offer insurance.

When I lived in Omaha in the mid-to-late 80's and early 90's, I often wondered why there were 2 Burger Kings on West Center Road – One on 120th and the other on 144th. We went to the one on 144th and West Center a couple times, but not the one on 120th and West Center.

We went to the one on 144th and West Center a couple times, but not the one on 120th and West Center.
On that subject, there used to be one on 90th as well.

So including that one, there are/was locations at 175th, 144th, Oakview Mall, 120th, 90th, 52nd. Lots of BKs to choose from along Center. Quantity over quality I reckon.
