There just is no way that Nebraska wins 6 games this year if they loose to Michigan State on Saturday night. Oddsmakers have MIchigan State favored by 4 1/2 points. Anything is possible but the reality is this Husker team will not be winning any BIg10 games on the road this season. Michigan State should cover the points.

YOu could very likely be spot on but as a reminder, your OU prediction was 68-20 OU

We all had the part about Nebraska not being able to break 21 against Oklahoma but I don't think nobody knew how bad the Oklahoma passing game was. Sooner QB Spencer Rattler at this point appears to be way over hyped. He was a Heisman candidate last week and after Saturday night he can forget about that.

This year so far I have beat the oddsmakers 3 out of 4 times. They might get me this week but I doub't it. If you want to fall down one of those "game is rigged" conspiracy black holes you could buy into the idea that this is a late night rigged game and Nebraska will win.

Nebraska has beaten overrated Michigan State teams before. Not unheard of to win this next game.

Nebraska/Oklahoma used to be Thanksgiving football kind of like Dallas/Detroit. Not anymore. Times have changed.

Historically that is all correct but I don't think history can override the obvious insurmountable obstacles Nebraska is faced with this year.

(1) Scott Frost has won only a couple of games on the road as coach of the Huskers and none of them against a good team.

(2) Nebraska is 2-2 this season with no wins against legit teams while Michigan State is 3-0 with 2 legit wins over Northwestern and Miami

(3) Michigan is ranked in the top 25 in various polls. Scott Frost as coach of Nebraska has never beat a ranked team.

If somehow the Huskers can pull the upset..It would definitely be a “signature win” in the Frost era..

I work with a Michigan State fan..Great guy, a Sparty alumni actually.. But- I’d love to see the Huskers win, and knock the sh!t eating grin off his face

I am not sure Northwestern is really legit this year, they just lost to Duke over the weekend and Duke had lost to Charlotte (I will be be honest I didn't really remember Charlotte was a football team). I know Miami was ranked but I also don't see them being ranked or possibly with a winning record by the end of the year.

As bad as things have gone for Northwestern this season by no means are they the caliber of Buffalo or a Fordham. I think next week Northwestern will be the 3rd and final win of the year for Nebraska. We might get a 4th win against Purdue but the chances of winning 5 games will went have flew out the window if Nebraska does not win against Michigan State. This Michigan State game is Nebraska's last hope of winning 5 games this season.

I bet 20 bucks on Michigan State today at Ameristar Casino and the points had went up to 5 now. Pretty sure Nebraska is going to tank on this one but not sure enough to bet 100 bucks or any real money.

Nebraska will be the underdog in all of its remaining games except possibly Northwestern. This is why the Illinois loss was so devastating. If we didn’t make all those mistakes we probably win the Illinois game. I don’t know what’s going to happen this week. Michigan State looks improved and it’s hard to tell which Nebraska team will show up. I’m picking Nebraska to lose but it won’t be a blowout.

Well, I liked what the Skers showed us last week, and they have always played MSU tough, and have surprisingly won a lot of those matchups. They are 4-2 against MSU since joining the Big10. Not that history matters here... Every team from year to year can flip a 180, and MSU seems to be pretty good this year. But I'm starting to like the Nebraska defense more each week this season. I like them to hold it down pretty well, but ultimately they lose this one.

The Transfer Portal was brutal to Nebraska stealing some of our best players. For MIchigan State the Transfer Portal looks like it was a real game changer. After playing at Wake Forrest for 2 years running back Kenneth Walker transferred to MIchigan State in January. He is said to weigh 264 pounds and has break away speed. You want to know why Northwestern lost to Michigan State? Kenneth Walker showed up against Northwestern and lead the team to victory. Kenneth Walker looked great against Miami last week too. I don't think Nebraska will have any answer for Kenneth Walker.

MIchigan State 45 Nebraska 24

Check out these 1 minute highlight reels of Kenneth Walker against Miami and Northwestern. I doubt Nebraska defensive players have the talent and speed to stop him from taking over the game.

That is what makes me nervous^. Huskers have a history of sh!tting the bed against teams that have a good running back/one that is the base of their offense.

This could be our hardest game yet, as I think most feel Oklahoma was and is overrated. The only thing I like about this game is we have historically played well against Michigan State. But their running back is the real deal and we must contain him, which won’t be easy.

I was wondering if I would ever see the day but it looks like Omaha World Herald sports columnist Tom Shatel has finally given up on selling the Husker kool Aid. Shatel predicts in the paper today that Michigan State will win by 10 points over Nebraska 31 to 21. Shatel also goes on to state the obvious which is we will be lucky to win 4 or 5 games this year.

Well, it's nice to see the Nebraska defense step it up. But, man, they gotta do something about those penalties. Both on offense and defense. They're hurting them badly.

Wow, what a disappointment... Awful call to throw in that OT 3rd down. Defense was good, kick the 30 yard field goal and go on. Instead, interception, no points. I hate college football OT rules.

It’s not that NU is a worse team than their opponents, just that they always manage to find a way to lose.

Wowza. That special teams and offensive line play.

You get a competent coaching staff and this team is 5-0 or very close.

I still like where this ship is going though...

Defense still held the #3 and #20 teams to 23 points and the team had (plenty of) chances to win both games... Bitter sweet as it is, the team is on the right track IMO.

I like their chances to win next week against Northwestern, and Minnesota and Purdue down the line. Perhaps even Wisconsin and Iowa. Those teams didn't necessarily impress today. I still think there is an ever so slight avenue to 6-6. I think Scott Frost bought himself a guaranteed 2021 season these last two weeks, if it were even in question. Moral victories for sure, but even those are hard to come by in recent years.

Nebraska had a chance to win the game, but they let that Michigan State player return that punt for a touchdown and everything just slipped away after that.

One thing that changed yesterday is the perceived difficulty of some of our upcoming games. Minnesota despite being a 31 point favorite lost at home to Bowling Green. Wisconsin was blown out by Notre Dame. Michigan barely beats a Rutgers, despite 2 of Rutgers top defenders being suspended for a drive by paintball incident. Iowa looked rough and certainly not like a top 10 team, in only beating 1 and 3 Colorado State 24-14.

Agree, the Big10 doesn’t seem to have a dominant team this year with Ohio State being somewhat down, at least for them. This holds out hope that we do have a chance to win some more games because you never know what’s going to happen until you play the game.

Im still thinking 4-5 wins for us is still in the cards. But with two devastating losses already this year to Illinois and Michigan State , I hope Nebraska can bounce back.

Let’s review the monumental way NU blew it’s overwhelmingly favorable chance of winning this game..

Sparty got 0, ZERO first downs offensively in the 2nd half.. The Blackshirts, arguably, played their most brilliant game in at least 10 years..

The Huskers punt, with a 20-13 lead and about 3 minutes or so left in the game- That punt was supposed to go right- The Huskers Ran right to defend against a return- naturally, the punt goes left and the Michigan State punt returner, Jayden Reed, waltzes 62 yards for an easy and INEXCUSABLE touchdown.. Boneheaded special teams mistake #300,000,000 (our head coach continues to not hire a special teams coach by the way) and we all got that sinking feeling another Husker loss was pending..and, of course, it was..and don’t give me the excuse that “these are 18-21 year old kids” blah blah..I played HS football, I watch HS football and that mistake is rarely made by 14-17 year old HS “kids”..Sheesh..

It’s hard to pump sunshine in the Husker nation this morning. I see some are..

It was an absolutely inexcusable, mind numbing loss..and the biggest shame of all, a fantastic effort by the NU defense was completely wasted..I can’t fathom this loss will do anything but be another blow to this teams mental psyche..

And as a fan, I continue to be sickened by it…

Yeah, the team could, and probably should be 4-1 or even 5-0. Instead, they are 2-3. I don't think anyone expected them to beat Oklahoma and they almost did. The Illinois and Michigan State losses absolutely were devastating. The difference for me this year is watching the games and having hope that they stand a chance. They play with more pride and purpose. Despite so many boneheaded plays, they are more enjoyable to watch because they are starting to look like they think they can win.

I fully expect then to beat Northwestern and Purdue now after what I've seen the past two weeks, and I feel like they actually stand a decent chance against Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, and even Ohio State and Michigan. Though it would be much, much nicer to be 3-2 or 4-1, I still am optimistic about a shot at 4 more wins yet this year. At least that was what the last two games did for me.
