The Huskers still make too many mistakes, and lack intelligence- especially in special teams play, for me to think they’ll finish with any more than 4 wins this season..

Which is a shame..considering their defense is actually a competent one in 2021…

Epic overtime meltdown by choke artist Adrian Martinez. First down of overtime Adrian overlooks a wide open player headed for the end zone and settles for a 2 yard pass to the sideline. Second down of overtime Adrian throws a 5 yard pass so hard and low to the ground that the player can only catch it and fall to the ground. Third down Adrian throws the ball inside when it should of went outside and it gets picked off and the game is over. Just 3 plays and Adrian has given the game away.

Nebraska is a 9 1/2 point favorite over Northwestern Saturday night. Nebraska should win the game this week but by 10 points is not likely.

I won’t lay this loss at the feet of Martinez..He played well enough the Huskers defense could have salted away the win..

The game was lost on an inexcusable, boneheaded misdirected punt, which allowed Michigan State punt returner Jayden Reed to waltz into the end zone for an easy 62 yard punt return..

The point being, the game should have never EVER gone into overtime in the first place…

Yeah, the Huskers statistically dominated that game, and Michigan State didn't impress at all. But when it comes down to it, they had a 20-13 lead, and lost it on a punt return touchdown. The reason they had to punt - the offense didn't get it done on that particular drive... Three straight runs, which normally you would love to see, but the offensive line isn't reliable enough to bleed clock with a lead. I like the attempt to control the game at that point, but the punt screwed 'em.

I still like what I'm seeing the last couple weeks. I'll take a few moral victories at this point because there's no other option. At the very least, it feels like they're on the right track and I feel pretty optimistic that they still have a slim shot at 6-6 this season now. Before Oklahoma and Michigan State, I pretty much wrote them off as a 2-10 team (which could still happen, I know). But I feel bitter sweetly good I suppose.

I must of been watching a different game then the local media and Scott Frost. I did not see the Huskers dominate in any way shape or form. I sure did not see any improvement. Come on man dump the Husker Koolaide in the potty where it belongs. There is a reason why Michigan State is in the top 20 this week and Nebraska is in the outhouse and it is not because Nebraska dominated anything in that game. Domination is what Michigan State did to Nebraska in Overtime where they walked the walk and steam rolled the Huskers.

Figured out that has something to do with Tom Osborne, potentially a facility naming of some sort, or something along those lines.

As far was the game this weekend goes, it looks like weather may be a factor. Should be upper 60's during the game, with a 40% chance of rain, and even the potential for thunder. I have to think that will work more to the benefit of the team that doesnt/can't throw. I have to think a bit more on my prediction, but I get the feeling it will be closer than we would like.

Looks like 2 home night games in a row, as ABC has picked up the Michigan game for the following Saturday night.

I noticed that, Michigan game on ABC which is good exposure for the program. Gives extra incentive to play well. Frost is way overdue for a upset. Shatel picking Nebraska to win this .

I actually like the Huskers to take care of business this Saturday. I like them to win 26-13, with of course that score including a missed extra point, plus a failed 2-pt attempt.

I actually like the prospects of winning this game too. Michigan just played down to Rutgers, I like the way the defense is playing, and so far, the Skers have played impressively to the highly ranked teams this year, plus its a prime-time home game. I like the odds of not getting creamed this time. Fingers crossed.

Nebraska is a 12 point favorite now which is a total farce. This game has the same look as the Illinois game where Nebraska was favored for no logical reason by 8 or 9 points. The correct point spread should be Nebraska favored by 2 1/2 points. The only reason Nebraska should be favored is because they are playing at home and Northwestern is off to a rough start. Northwestern has been to a bowl game the past 3 years and has won the Big 10 West division 2 out of the last 3 years. Nebraska has not won anything the last 3 years and have not been to a bowl game. All Nebraska has done ever since Frost showed up is talk B.S. and lose repeatedly. Frost won 13 games in his last season down in Florida and he has not won 13 games combined in 4 years of being at Nebraska. Currently Frost has won just 12 games at Nebraska. Lets cut the hype and give Northwestern its due. Northwestern is twice the program Nebraska is. Northwestern's coach has been there for over 10 years and Scott Frost will be out of here by Christmas.

WOW, there's no way anybody expected this. Sitting at 56, they might still hang 63 or 70 just trying to run clock. Scott Frost needed this big time. Just what the doctor ordered.

The Michigan game next week is looking much more interesting than it did a few weeks ago. Actually all the remaining Big10 games I think we have a chance to win. Mainly because the defense is improving every week and it looks like the running game is starting to fall in place with Ramir Johnson and Yant.

Huskers bludgeoned Northwestern 56-7..

I’m very happy to be wrong, as I predicted the usual tight game with the Wildcats. I don’t think anyone saw a 49 point Husker win coming..

Simply put, Nebraska proved they were the superior team tonight.. Now on to a huge home test on national TV next Saturday night against the Michigan Wolverines…

Wisconsin, this season, hasn’t exactly set the world on fire (they’re 1-3 so far in 2021)..and have been defeated decisively the past 2 weeks..including getting beat up at home today against Michigan..

If the Huskers bring their “A” game, they have a fairly decent chance of knocking off the Badgers in Camp Randall stadium this year…

The game against Michigan now appears to be a tossup, before the Oklahoma game I wasn’t even sure if it was worth watching. Now this game is huge and we have a chance to make a major statement on ABC TV before a prime time audience. This is Frost best defense since he’s been at Nebraska.

I like their chances in all the remaining games. The Huskers have shown a lot of strength and fight, while all the remaining opponents have shown plenty of unexpected weaknesses. I no longer feel comfortable guaranteeing losses and that is a good place to be. I feel very optimistic to still see 6 wins and that is a far cry from my optimism after week 1. Even if they were to go 4-8, if they hang in all the games and show fight like they have the past several weeks I like where it's going.

Ohio State - Loss

Though it would be much, much better to be at 5-1 or 4-2 instead of 3-3. They are that better team which is why I feel so much better down the stretch.

It is hard to believe that the team that won the division title last year could be the worst team in the division this year but that is what it looks like. There is a reason Duke beat Northwestern and we saw why. This is a Northwestern team with a Defense that can't stop nothing much less a guy like Adrian Martinez that is a talented runner. Martinez scored the first 3 touchdowns in the first quarter and the game was over. Northwestern is in the middle of quarterback troubles and mounting a comeback from a 3 touchdown deficit wasn't happening.

Will Nebraska be able to carry the momentum and look good against Michigan? I doubt it. Its all in Adrian's hands and if he shows up and runs like a deer and does not make a bunch of mistakes Nebraska could upset Michigan. Again I doubt Nebraska beats Michigan. MIchigan is a 3 1/2 point favorite and there is no way I would bet on Nebraska.

Adrian is looking pretty good but not good enough to get any NFL offers yet. Maybe if Frost gets fired Adrian will enter the Transfer Portal and try to go somewhere that has more talent so he could attempt to have a great year and get drafted.

I think Nebraska got 4 sacks. Since Nebraska got a sack then it is buy one Big Mac get the 2nd one free on Monday. I haven not had a Big Mac in at least 3 or 4 years myself. I think its Raising Canes for me tomorrow!

This was just one game. The real question now is can they do it again or was it a one night fluke when everything went perfectly for Nebraska. It appears Northwestern isn’t very good and that to needs to be taken into consideration as well. We will know more after Michigan.

Martinez is playing his best ball so far of his career, this was the Martinez we wanted to see his sophomore year when he received preseason Heisman hype. And the defense appears to have found something that works and looks much improved over last year. I’m glad we are playing a good team this week as Michigan will be a better measuring stick to see how much Nebraska has improved. I don’t see Frost getting fired till the earliest after the 2022 season.

I think the men behind the curtain have already made the decision. Frost must go this year. Moos and Frost were partners in crime so Moos was retired early with pay to get him out of the way. There will be no 5th year of this travesty. The puppet masters have finally had enough. The whole thing has caved in on Frost now and he won't be digging his way out.

On a more positive note I read one experts prediction that has Nebraska playing UCLA in the Las Vegas Bowl on Thursday night Dec, 30th in the new Raiders stadium. That would be something alright!

It wasn't just one game though. It was one win, yes. I say this because they controlled the Michigan State game outside the abysmal special teams. They practically had that game won. And before that, for them to even have a shot at Oklahoma was promising to see. If they hang with Michigan and clean up the mistakes, I like their chances to have a good, close game with Michigan, one that could go either way.

I agree, there's no way frost is gone even if he finishes 4-8. There has been too much improvement shown these last few weeks. Only if they somehow tank and finish 3-9 and all the rest of the losses are curb stomping, is Scott frost not the man next year. I just don't see that happening.

I think Frost is safe this year. Team is better. Last three games have shown them hanging with two ranked teams and blowing out NW, a team they have previously struggled against.
Additionally, the cost of paying off his contract is substantial. I honestly don’t think the AD has that kind of money after the season ticket buy out.

I think he’s safe as well, only if he was caught cheating would he be fired this year. This is his best team since he’s been here. The Pandemic bought him some additional time also.

I agree he appears to be safe if the team stays on its current improving trajectory. I don’t want to jinx them, but what are the chances they get into the top 25 if they almost win-out the rest of the season? Or at least go to a bowl?

One thing that’s been getting more noticeable week after week, is the Huskers have developed into a legit defense this year..

Martinez has played well the past 3 weeks too. What a thunderous beginning it would be if NU could pull the upset this Saturday evening- giving Frost his first signature win..

I’m staying low key though..We’ve seen hope dashed far too many times to convince ourselves of a Husker win against a top 10 team..All I’ll say is- they have a decent shot..It doesn’t feel like a long shot…
