Just a rumor although the Rays have said they are at this time planning split season between Tampa and Montreal - which is why they want only 25,000 seats.
Rays’ ballpark plans focus on former Kforce site in Ybor City
Along with an adjoining piece of property currently owned by Hillsborough Community College, the site — once the headquarters of the staffing and professional services company — would be large enough for a 25,000-seat stadium that the Rays have proposed for their split season concept with Montreal.

Is that a better location for the locals. I've always heard that not only do they have a bad ballpark but it's in a local that is non convenient for their fan base. A double whammy.

The area around it has been a big development area in recent years and more projects are happening. Channelside and Sparkman Wharf area. The one thing I have heard is there are many not happy about the split season so if that was happening this year, the Rays would be playing their post season games up in MontrealGreg S wrote: Tue Oct 05, 2021 9:43 am Is that a better location for the locals. The Rays just need to relocate to another city that will support them. Absolutely pathetic how good they’ve been and averaging under 10K attendance.

Any progress down there? Went to my first game in Tampa in April.

This seems odd. The proponents of a new stadium have long argued that the current location is a major problem. Now the current location is being looked at, as the favorite?

St Pete doesn’t want to lose them but not sure they will stay there. There were developers who had submitted ideas for the area without the ball park and then the new mayor opened it back up. https://www.tampabay.com/news/st-peters ... ana-field/Greg S wrote: Tue Jul 05, 2022 10:30 am This seems odd.
