Omaha at night w/ no tripod

Took some picks tonight. I did my best keeping the camera still by balancing it on numerous objects including cars, concrete blocks, and even a parking meter. This is my photo posts for many more to come. Please enjoy for what they're worth.

Thanks guys! Well, I got a tripod and next time I post pictures they will be bigger and better quality than these.

Nice Pics. Until you get a tripod, don't forget that your camera has a timer. Prop your camera up, set the timer for 2-5 seconds, and take the picture. With your hands off the camera it will take a very sharp picture. Even having the camera on the tripod will exhibit some camera shake as you press and release the shutter. For the sharpest long exposure night pictures, I use a tripod, shutter release cable, and Mirror Lock-up(Not found on a point and shoot).

I would also recomend that anyone with a camera that is capable of using a shutter release cable use one for night photography. We did an expierment in school once and there is a noticable difference.
