This is going to be a mess by the end of the year. Uneven game totals are going to be a cluster to sort out fairly.
Agreed..
Every time a game gets cancelled, it sickens me (pardon the pun)..
This pandemic continues to suck the joy out (and away) of the simple pleasure of watching your favorite college basketball team take the court and compete against a worthy conference opponent. It seems like nearly 2 months since the Jays ran Villanova out of the arena by 20 points…
Ciao..LiO…Peace
The frustrating thing to me, at least for Creighton, is the lack of anything from the Big East. Are they working to reschedule? Are they wanting to hold off? What's the plan?
The silence so far is confusing, and a bit worrying

It is odd that, seemingly, the Big East would not have a contingency plan built to address any situation of Covid outbreaks within each program..and the potential cancellation of games..This is now our 2nd full college basketball season with the pandemic still in full effect..
In case the powers to be in the Big East didn’t know, the pandemic and the threat of Covid-19 never went away…
Good, it looks like they have started to reschedule things now. The Creighton v Depaul game will now be on February 17th (was supposed to be on December 20th).
Jays gave up a 17 pt lead and tied at 58 headed to OT. Missed FTs have cost the Jays, but a terrible non-call with 20 sec and then to overturn the call on the court and give the ball to Marquette was horrible.
My annual complaining about the polls. I don't see how Iowa could be getting more votes than Creighton. They have a non-con SOS of 344 out of 358 teams. The only 3 really quality opponents that they have played (Ill, Purdue and ISU) have all been losses. Meanwhile, Creighton, does have the bad 1-pt loss at home to Ariz St, but other than that beat two ranked teams and the other losses are to ISU, who only has one loss and undefeated Col St.
I know that polls mean nothing, especially this time of year, but they are ridiculous.
NEW YORK – The BIG EAST Conference has announced the rescheduling of three men’s basketball games. These games could not be played on their original dates due to COVID-19 issues.
The rescheduled games are:
Connecticut at Xavier – Friday, February 11, 7 p.m. ET, TV: FS1
(originally scheduled on December 28)
St. John's at Georgetown (McDonough Arena) - Thursday, February 3, 6 p.m. ET, TV: FS1
(scheduled on January 1)
Butler at St. John’s (Carnesecca Arena) – Friday, February 18, 5 p.m. ET, TV: CBSSN
(originally scheduled on December 23)
Update: The BIG EAST Conference has announced that the St. John’s at Georgetown game, which had been rescheduled for February 21, has been moved to Thursday, February 3, at 6 p.m. ET. The game will be played at McDonough Arena. FS1 will televise the contest.
Not surprising the Jays are getting their heads kicked in currently by Villanova 60-36 with 7:21 left in the game..
Absolutely sickening effort by the Jays..Young team or not. This loss is not one I would classify as “growing pains”.. AOC seemed to be the only player who brought some game tonight..
Absolutely terrible game. I think R2 has hit the freshman wall at least in this game. He has to learn not to dribble to the baseline every time. All 3 Ryans struggled in this game. Kalk hurt his ankle in practice on wed, but Hawkins looked like a DII player in this game (slow on defense, couldn't buy a bucket).
The Jays tend to lay 1-2 of these type of games per season. Last year it was Georgetown in the Big East tourney, a couple of years ago San Diego St.
last night was the lowest pt total since Jan 2015.
I agree AOC was the only one that brought anything to the game. Hopefully they get fired up to play Prov at home next Tues.

Geez, you slacker, thankfully only 2 more of these 8 PM start times, I love the Big East, but miss all the 7PM starts.
I find it way easier to get to the 8pm start times, but I don't take my kids.
That is always my issue, I don't want to take the kids b/c with that start time, I don't get home until 11, but I am also afraid to ask a friend b/c they might want to go have a drink afterwards and then it would be even later for me.
