“Sometimes I just like to break up the trip, and Omaha's kind of halfway [across the country],” Madden said. “So I stayed in Omaha one night, and we went to see the minor league baseball team play. Anyway, they have a raffle for a case of pork and beans. It's the seventh inning, and everybody's excited. They pick the winner, and the guy's sitting right behind home plate. His name is Elmer something, and he's jumping up and down. To him it was like a trip to Hawaii or a new car or something. It was just a case of pork and beans. That was great.”

That was one sick set. His Comedy Central roast was also pretty dark, but funny.

I watched Louie Anderson when he hosted "Family Feud" during the first 3 seasons from 1999 to 2002. I wish they'd kept him as host all these years.

Today we lost one of the best guy's in the Railroad/Railroad Preservation community, Jim Wrinn, Jim has been the longtime editor of Trains Magazine.
Jim passed away at age 61 after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

Jim's connection to Omaha is that he married Cate Kratville from Omaha. They were married on the back of her Dad's train car which is the "Cornhusker Club" in the basement of the Durham Museum. Cate's Dad was a famous Historian/Author/Photographer from Omaha.

Chip’s good friend Bill Fries passed away today. Bill and Chip teamed up to create the fictional CW McCall — voiced by Fries — for a series of award-winning commercials, including the #1 classic hit, “Convoy”.

Chip just spoke about his friend, “Bill Fries, ‘Breaker Breaker 19’ is how that big song started— selling millions of copies worldwide. It made an impressive impact on millions of people. I had a great time writing with ‘Willy’. I’d go over to his house and we’d talk about the topic of a song while having a ‘silver bullet’— Bill’s name for a martini. I wrote the music separately and I never heard his words until we got into the studio. What a wordsmith and what a voice. You won’t have to keep the pedal to the metal anymore. Rest up Willy, you deserve it.”
