Looks like we are going to have to wait longer for another home game. The next scheduled home game isn't until Jan 19th, which would be more than a month from the previous one.

So apparently this is a very recent development. Providence had shootaround at the CHI center about 3 hours ago.

So how does rescheduling these games work? If a date can't be agreed upon for rescheduling, is the game forfeit by the team that had Covid? Doesn''t seem fair to Creighton. Last year Nova had a ton of games cancelled and won the conference title because of it. They played 5 fewer conference games than Creighton.

How many home games have we had impacted by this? 2 or 3 so far?

And it just seems a bit out of order to try and cram these games all at the end of the season, it won't work.

We have had the Georgetown game and now the Providence game. The other one was a road game @ DePaul. I think it was hard enough to schedule those earlier games, but as the season goes along, its going to become more and more difficult, if not impossible. That is why I was wondering if Creighton will get the forfeit win if they can't. It isn't fair to Creighton to cram all the games into a few weeks at the end of the season.

Found my answer:

According to the Big East's initial policy for this season, those games would have counted as forfeits. But the conference revised its policy on Dec. 23 as COVID cases surged this winter and many games were impact as a result. Now if a postponed game can't be rescheduled, it will count as a no contest.

Man with all postponed games that Creighton has had, they need all the help they can get from teams that they have already played this season.

Last night didn't help....Nebraska was tied with #25 Ill with 4 min to go and found a way to lose by 10 at home. IA St was up by 1 @ #9 Kansas and gave up the game-winning layup with 6 secs left.

Unbelievable that the Jays have 13 turnovers in the first half yet they lead by five. They were actually doing a really good job the sad thing is about 10 of those turnovers were in the last eight minutes of the first half

The Jays are blowing it with turnovers again, they have 20 right now with about a minute to go in the game.

73-80, It was a four point game with 30 seconds to go, Unfortunately the 21 turnovers were too much to overcome. AOC had a career high with 22 points and other than his turnovers played a great game.

It's maddening, but if they can get control of those turnovers as they gain experience, the potential is pretty great.

Frustrating though.

It will be nice for the young group to be back home, they have three of the next four at home assuming they are played

This is a combination of a young team, not playing recently, along with the turnover bug striking once again..

This Jays team SORLEY needs the continuity of playing a stretch of games without interruption…

Ryan Nembhard just got his 5th Freshman of the Week honor, that is more than all the other freshman in the Big East combined.

Jays up 15, 49-35 at half. Playing much better but still too many turnovers with 10 at half.

Really nice win for the Jays over the Red Storm tonight.. 87-64 CU..

AOC, Alexander and Kaluma all with career highs. Kalkbrenner with 11 rebounds..

11-5 16 games in with a young team? I’ll take it…

Nice photos Brad, the game was a great one to be at.

It was nice to see the jeans at home and take control of the game early to put it away. AOC had another great game they really shut down Saint johns top scorer, While getting 28 points himself and seven rebounds.

Wow what a comeback for the Jays, down by nine at halftime and they won by double digits.

Kalkbrenner had a monster game with 18 points 10 rebounds and six blocks, he is a difference maker for Creighton for sure.

A tale of two halves, I really like the fortitude showed by Creighton in this game. Trey is going to be a special player, and seeing Kall fill his potential has been fantastic.

There are so many cliches which could be used to describe Ryan Kalkbrenner’s improved play this season over last..

But I’ll use Coach Mac’s take from a month or so when he stated most times, a players biggest leap of improvement comes between his 1st and 2nd year (in Ryan’s case, Freshman to Sophomore). I agree with Mac..but this doesn’t always happen either. Credit to Kalkbrenner for putting in the work to become a much better player. It clearly shows on the court. He is definitely becoming a “Manster”..

Regarding the game, nice to see the Jays execute and pull away for the win in the 2nd half. DePaul is not a bad team this year, but CU continues to have their number…
