I saw the NFL delivered blockbuster ratings over the weekend. They had a very strong regular season. It doesn't seem like it will be fading away anytime soon:

Considering that the four games last weekend were some of the best football in years, the ratings aren’t a surprise.

I don’t see it disappear soon, but it is increasingly gladiatorial. The moral aspect of being a football fan is tilting away from it.

The thing is, those weekend games were not an anomaly. With the article I posted, the entire season's were up substantially, and the highest in over five years. It's not just the NFL either.

There was a lot of parody this season. I dont believe there was a clear cut regular season "champion" as every playoff team had no less than 4 losses. And half of the teams with the best records are gone now.

There definitely was on the pro side, not so much on the college. Both are thriving.

Agreed. It's always been a strength of the NFL. Unless you're a Viking fan.

Unless your a SEC fan, college football is getting boring. The NFL is easily my favorite of the major sports. The games last weekend were incredible. The league has good parity which keeps it interesting and unpredictable. College football seems to be dominated by 5 or 6 teams, and I don’t care for that type of setup. If one of my teams dominated I might feel differently. I’m not saying I dislike College Football it’s just the NFL is clearly better. It’s also cool that one of the top NFL teams is just 200 miles away.
