Yeah I was happy they gave him and his assistants large raises. If he continues to build the program, I would look into making him top paid coach in Big 10 and near the top nationally.

On today's show, we're talking Big 10. It's hard to project what they're going to look like, since last season was conference-only and so many teams lost games to COVID, but let's give it a shot. Big 10 baseball continues to improve but I think it will be a major disappoint if Nebraska doesn't win the conference again this year. That would also lead to big crowds and money in downtown Omaha for the Big 10 baseball tournament.

What a difference a year makes. Last year Nebraska was not a preseason top 6 Big 10 team, this year predicted to win it. Hopefully we continue momentum built last year.

Interseting side note. I was listing to the first part of Game 1 Friday as I was heading the Husker Basketball game. The temp announced at the first pitch was 5 Deg cooler than the current temp in lincoln at that time.

Nebraska Wins One Game in Disappointing Weekend
The Huskers gave up 37 runs in three games to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi

Nebraska baseball's first home weekend left plenty to be desired.The 8-11 Huskers took Friday's game 13-12 before falling to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (12-10) 4-1 Saturday then 21-4 Sunday.

The 37 runs given up on the weekend are the most in three days since giving up 38 in a four game series at Oregon State in 2019. The last three-game series to suffer as much damage was the 37 runs by Oklahoma in 2009.

Nebraska (12-14, 4-2 Big Ten) went to Columbus, Ohio, on a three-game losing streak, having lost five of the last six contests. But the bats came to life and the defense stayed steady in a sweep of Ohio State (8-16, 0-4 Big Ten) by scores of 5-3, 10-5 and 17-5.

Ohio State looks awful but either way this was a great weekend. Absolutely had to get the sweep on the road and they did. Hopefully offense continues to improve as we go deeper into the season.

Monte Cristo's son Drew is starting for NU tonight. He had a rough go in his last start against New Mexico State. Hoping for a better one tonight. UNO is the real deal, they took 2 of 3 previously against Big 10 leading Rutgers. They also took 2 of 3 last week at Oral Roberts.

I am traveling tonight otherwise I'd be at this game.

Koty Frank stole the show for the Nebraska baseball team (13-18, 4-5 Big Ten) in a gritty 1-0 win over BYU (17-13, 6-6 WCC).

The Thursday pitchers' duel got off to a quick start as both starters worked three straight scoreless innings, allowing no baserunners between the two of them. Koty Frank dealt four strikeouts through the first three innings for the Huskers as both sides searched for the first hit.
