I like this move though I do find it baffling it took them this long to figure it out. Or that it took hiring Guinta to make them understand:

Omar Manning Returns to Outside Receiver Spot
Mickey Joseph discusses Zavier Betts’ status and more after final practice before spring game

With Zavier Betts' departure, Omar Manning has moved back to the X receiver spot on the outside after spending much of the spring as a slot receiver.

"We think his natural position is going to be X," position coach Mickey Joseph said after Wednesday's Nebraska football practice, "but the best thing about it is he proved he can learn two positions. So he learned R and then he went to X, and he's been fine."

Huskers offer versatile athlete Beni Ngoyi from Lincoln High

It is a very good year for in-state talent. The Huskers had already offered six in-state players from the 2023 class as of Monday morning until Nebraska extended an offer to Beni Ngoyi.

Ngoyi from Lincoln (Neb.) High was told that he was doing all of the right things earlier in the year by Nebraska to pick up an offer and today the Huskers extended an offer when wide receivers coach Mickey Joseph came by Lincoln High on Monday morning. It's the second offer NU has made to a new in-state target since the Apr. 9 Red-White spring game. The offer to Ngoyi is as an athlete.

Packers Draft Nebraska’s Samori Touré in Seventh Round
Wide receiver’s single season as a Husker pays off in NFL draft

A Day 3 shutout for the Huskers in the NFL draft was averted Saturday when the Green Bay Packers selected Nebraska wide receiver Samori Touré late in the final round.

Touré went to the Packers with the draft's 258th pick out of 262. On Friday night, two of his teammates, center Cam Jurgens and cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt, were drafted in the second round. After that, 198 players were chosen over the course of more than five full rounds before Touré became the third Husker selected.

Jurgens, Taylor-Britt Go in Second Round of NFL Draft
At No. 51, the Nebraska center becomes the highest Husker draft pick in more than a decade

The Cornhusker state is known for its one-house legislature, called the unicameral. But it was a biCameral night for Nebraska during the second round of the NFL draft Friday.

A pair of Cams - center Cam Jurgens and cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt - were chosen nine picks apart from each other in Las Vegas. Jurgens went at No. 51 to the Philadelphia Eagles, and Taylor-Britt was chosen with the 60th selection by the defending AFC champion Cincinnati Bengals.

I hear that transfer edge rusher from TCU is an exciting grab for the Huskers. He appears to be a lock in NFL talent. Might only be here one year, but watching his highlights, he can have a huge impact on games. So far it sounds like the Huskers may be having one of the best off-seasons in college football.

He sure does seem the be the real deal.

As to having one of the best offseasons in CFB, there is a part of that that I think needs to be factored in. The Huskers have a good chance to gain a lot of ground with who is coming but let's not lose sight of where the starting point is at. A team that is a lot more sold to start with has a lot less to gain.
For the record  NEBUGEATER does not equal BUGEATER    !!!!!!!

I definitely hear that. This off-season feels like one of the most promising I can remember. But yes, my expectations are still grounded in reality. I'm just a little more confident they can go 6-6 as I knock on wood.

As long as they don't go to Ireland and lay down a fat stinker, they should be 3-0 to start the season. They've only started a season 3-0 or better three times since joining the Big Ten, so that in itself would be something to be jolly about. And hopefully they will be feeling confident hosting an Oklahoma team that may be more beatable than in recent memory. I like their odds to have six wins by November, for once, and they have easy crossovers, for once.
