I can’t wait for us to dry out starting Thursday morning; and the temps getting back to seasonal. The rain has been beneficial though…

Where are we at with rainfall? I suspect we've already seen over an inch where I am, but Eppley is reporting .8 inches.

Re: 2022 Weather Thread
Eppley reported .77 for yesterday with a small amount more so far today, Looks like we could get an additional .3" or so by the time this is over, which would but us almost 4" on the month. 4.66" is the average for May. So it looks like if we want to make up that ~half inch of rain, there is a small chance of rain on Monday/Tuesday. But if I'm being honest, it ain't gonna happen. So despite how great this rain has been this month, we are still not going to hit our mark.Louie wrote: Wed May 25, 2022 2:09 pm Where are we at with rainfall? Re: 2022 Weather Thread
Since I've said that, this rainfall has overachieved. I'll say it every time if this is what we get
What a washout. I love it. Looks like it'll be over fairly shortly though. I won't be surprised if we have made up the discrepancy between what we had and our monthly average to date.
We are at 4.18" on the month and that's not including this hour or next. Though I feel next hour will be very light. This rain today and yesterday has been beyond wonderful.

Wow, it looks like I'm wrong yet again. This thing just keeps regenerating right over Omaha and appears it may stick around and come and go through daybreak, and maybe even later. The amount of rain we've had the last day or two has been amazing.

Alright! With yesterday's additional surprising amount of rain, we are officially going to end the month of May with a surplus! About frickin time. The last two days have been so enjoyable. I love a good rain and sleeping with the window cracked listening to the peaceful pitter patter of the rain drops. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and I better have, because I am NOT looking forward to this weekend with highs in the 90's. I already miss the weather of the last two days and its not even 100% over yet.

The risk for strong to severe storms continues to increase in parts of the area starting today in north-central NE and then an increasing threat tomorrow and Monday. This includes the risk for supercells and damaging wind, very large hail, and tornadoes (a few of which could be strong).

A tornado watch will likely be issued for much of eastern NE shortly. MD is up. In Omaha itself, odds are pretty low we will see much of anything (and if we do, it won’t be until late tonight).

There's two problems here... First, that's a Menards ruler. Second, that brittle appendage is what makes it 6". I'd give it a solid 4 1/4", which is still really, really big. I'd hate to see stones that big here in Omaha.

Colorado mountains enjoy June 1 snow
The calendar might read June 1, but it looks and feels more like January 1 in Colorado's High Country. Here's the view on June 1, 2022 in Clear Creek County, Colorado.

Re: 2022 Weather Thread
That's a pain... I was supposed to go to Estes Park for a camping trip on May 22nd for a week, but it snowed 12". Then this week we considered dropping everything and randomly going out there for a re-do, and look, more of the same.
I also think it is a bit weird that we in Omaha are going to be below average through the second week of June. I personally love it, but it does seem out of place, considering the last few years have been above average and the NWS is expecting another above average summer.

If they are expecting above average again, it surely will need to jump back into the 90s after this cool spell.Busguy2010 wrote: Wed Jun 01, 2022 5:54 pm That's a pain... Re: 2022 Weather Thread
They're probably not worried about it. Meteorological Summer started just today, so I don't think this cooler start to Summer would be indicative contrary to the expectation. Though, I wish it would be, as everybody knows, I'm no fan of 90's, 80's, heck, even upper 70's. You get above 72 and I'm starting to grumble. So today has been pretty nice to me.Louie wrote: Wed Jun 01, 2022 6:01 pm If they are expecting above average again, it surely will need to jump back into the 90s after this cool spell.

I suppose that's true. We usually don't see six 90 degree days before June 1. But here we are.Busguy2010 wrote: Wed Jun 01, 2022 7:19 pmThey're probably not worried about it. Re: 2022 Weather Thread
During May, we received 5.32" of rain, which is .66" greater than the normal of 4.66". Our .66" surplus for May puts us at a deficit of -1.76" for 2022. Not horrible, but still a deficit. And hard to believe with the last month or so being so wet, but March and May are the only months we didn't run a deficit, and we had very little snow this year. It feels at least somewhat nice to dig into our 2020's decade deficit that is now *only* -12.45".

I agree with you finally. I think it was 79 or 80 with a nice breeze and cloudy most of the time. The clouds and breeze made it tolerable for me, otherwise if it was sunny it would be a thumbs down. I worked outside most of the day. Definitely sweated a lot, but the breeze made it quite an okay working day, relatively speaking. I still love my 50s and 60s always and forever.Omaha Cowboy wrote: Sun Jun 05, 2022 6:22 am Saturday was definitely a perfect weather evening to sit outside on the patio or desk and enjoy a couple of adult beverages. Wow.. About 25 minutes ago, torrential rain just started coming down in sheets where I live in the 120th to 132nd and West Center area. Still heavy rain as I write this..
It sounds like we could have an active, potentially severe weather evening/overnight for the Omaha area…
