Go to the Fairway Grocery website to look at this week's ad and enter my zip code to find the local ad. For the First time, it shows the Coming soon Gretna store with an OPENING MARCH 2022 stated

Spikers Sports and Spirits was open for its last Day on Saturday 1/15/22 ( with a drain the keg opening for a while on Sunday)

Bar, Sand Volleyball, and food.

Their Facebook page has said they were not planning on closing but an offer was brought to them for the property that they could not turn down. They did not say who or what would be going there but did say it would not be a restaurant/bar.

nebugeater wrote: Tue Nov 30, 2021 4:38 pm Sent a message to the Noli's Facebook page and asked about the possible Gretna location. Got a response today that they have signed a lease in Gretna and expect an early spring open. Guess the chatter was real.
I wonder what they leased? Old Pizza Hut location perhaps...

When I think Gretna I always think of that section of Hwy 6/31 from Hwy 370 to about Schramm Rd. However, they could just as easily be going to 168th & Giles.
I did not ask about location but the rumors I had heard that they were coming that ended up being correct also said they were going into the old Pizza Hut location. With part of it being confirmed I would guess there is a better than average chance that is the location
Noli's had a post on their Facebook page late in the week that was mentioning the Gretna location and looking for historic photos of Gretna to use there. They did confirm that they will be going into the former Pizza Hut location.

Noli’s Pizzeria is opening in Gretna, at the old Pizza Hut at 11832 Standing Stone Dr.! I am an owner, designer and am seeking the help of this community to locate highlights of the community to photograph for our art throughout.
I have some ideas thus far, the photographs will be black & white compositions of both historic and current landmarks within the community- brick roads, train tracks, water tower, architectural details and stadium lights.
I welcome any suggestions in the comments.
____________
My goal with design is both modern and welcoming, with a sense of the history and roots of the community where we are located.
We are excited to be a part of Gretna- we found new higher capacity ovens that deliver the high heat our pizzas require (it’s an upgrade from our blackstone location) and we are planning to build an outdoor patio for dining.
Our open date is (hopefully;) March, definitely spring this year.
I will open a Facebook group for Noli’s Pizzeria-Gretna soon for any inquiries on details about our opening, what we serve, etc. until then, you can inquire via our other pages.

I talked to two manager types at an Omaha area Casey's today. They were part of a group that does existing store improvements and have had a little involvement in the change over for the acquired stores. I asked them if they know what the target opening date is for the new Casey's in Gretna. While they said they were not involved directly with it they thought it was March. They also shared that they have issues getting some of what they need for conversions and new stores right now like a lot of things so it was subject to change.

I while back I read where Greta tops the list for wealthiest communities in Nebraska, per capita. I think that Papillion had long held that title.
So I guess it’s no surprise that all these new developments are aiming their sights on Gretna.

Fareway opens today in Gretna.

I watched the streaming of the ribbon-cutting late yesterday afternoon. It was nice to see the Owners of McKinney's there and mentioned and acknowledged. They were mentioned by the Gretna Mayor and by the President ( or maybe another top position) of Fareway for their contributions to Gretna and wished them well on their retirement. They were quoted as saying they look forward to shopping at Fairway and not having to stock the shelves etc.

I'll miss going to McKinney's and seeing someone's dog run around the store and when I ask have the employees tell me, "It's okay. She knows the owners and is in here all the time." Because, you know, that makes it alright. 🙄

I am not going to bad mouth McKinney's because they served Gretna and filled a need for a long time. I have been in Gretna since 1999. I will say we went there but it was not our go-to shopping destination for groceries.

Overall, I like McKinney's and have gotten to be recognized by and friendly with several of their longtime employees. I'm probably in there 3 or 4 times a week. They're a small town grocery store and so they're great for some things, but not so much for other things. The building is aging and maintenance has fallen to the wayside in recent years. That, plus things like my aforementioned issue, have a LOT of newer Gretna residents thinking McKinney's is "icky."

They are doing the grading now and some underground work. Guessing it will be open by fall in a brand new facility. If you know where Mcdaro's is it will be across from this on the other side of the access road that takes you into this area.

Probably fed by all the dirt work that is taking place across the Hwy from Ty's They have brought in a LOT of fill and raised the elevation. Pretty sure it is not just a surcharge.

The former Rod Kush Mansion in Gretna was proposed as a Senior living site in 2015. Thanks to Google we now have a sign. New name Hillcrest Highlands of Gretna. 11010 S Highway 31/6 last proposal was for 109 units.

I think I found it. ...... The Creek Apartments 18689 Oakmont Dr. Gretna, NE 68136. BHI Development. These popped up out of nowhere, 108 units look to be the build. 2 buildings look nearly done. I need to go west more often. photos from google and apartments.com

Anyone know the name of the apartments at 187th and Cypress Drive in Gretna?

Any word on what's going in that lot between the new AutoZone and the new Fareway at BDC Commons? They've been grading it. I think that's where Freddy's was supposed to go, but I had heard they backed out.

Freddy's was supposed to be where Autozone is. The remaining space is small enough that I cannot see anything much more than a drive-through coffee or something like that. I actually did some searching on line last night for info on this too and it didn't result in anything

There is a lot of grading taking place the last couple of days at the N E corner of Hwy 370 and Hwy 6/31 where FNBO put up a sign and a drive-through ATM a while back. There was surveying going on there before this. WIth FNBO stating that they would build a branch at this location at some point, I am assuming we are at that point.

Noli's has their sign on the front of the location they are moving into in Gretna. As mentioned before it is the old Pizza Hut location. From what I can see driving by there is a lot of work done inside and you will have no idea it was a former Pizza Hut.

The small lot in front of Fairway and AutoZone has been being built on for a few weeks. There is a sign there now that says Now Hire - PepperJax Grill. Not a large lot and the parking will be limited.

I wonder if they will be closing the location at Nebraska Crossing but who knows.

157-acre Gretna Crossing Park making steady progress
By the fall of 2023, Gretna won’t just be home to one of the largest shopping centers in the area but will also be home to one of the largest, multi-purpose parks.

Gretna Crossing Park has been a plan in progress for years and now the 157-acre piece of land is transforming.

As the city continues to grow, the city knew it needed to do something more to accommodate the needs of its residents. In 2020, the city purchased the giant plot of land, and in May of the same year, residents voted to approve a half-cent sales tax to help pay for it.
...
The highlight of the park is the recreation and aquatic center, which will be managed by the YMCA when complete.
...
“18-hole disc golf course, an amphitheater, a nature area, outdoor classroom, walking trails through and around the entire park, and to connect the park with the rest of our community.”

It will also have four baseball fields, four softball fields, four dual-use fields for sports like soccer and football, a fishing pond, and a playground.

Grading in progress at HWY370 and 192nd. Just stumbled across this, looks like some big things planned there but I am not sure how much of a value will investors see in this area? Also surprised to see CHI owns some farmland out there by HWY370 and 180th, will they ever build there? Regardless, future looks exciting for Gretna! - https://images1.loopnet.com/d2/hbHTJbYs ... ressed.pdf

I wouldn't be surprised to see CHI open a larger clinic in that neck of the woods. The current one they have on the northwest corner of the Hwy 6/Hwy 370 intersection is pretty small.

Wonder what the "national retailer" that's under contract is? Looks like they have a tied fuel station across the parking lot so perhaps a WalMart but it doesn't seem to be a large enough building on the drawing (if that's a somewhat accurate representation). Otherwise Bakers has gas stations tied to their grocery stores, but I'd find it a little odd for another dedicated grocery store to build directly across the street from HyVee - that doesn't seem to happen as often as it used to (ie, BK directly across from McDonald's, etc).

My wife has been asking for a Target closer to us - I don't see that happening at that corner either.

May be not a grocery store? May be something like a complex that hosts multiple retailers? Like the one we have at Lakeside stores on West Center Road. This area needs a CVS/Walgreens and Fedex/UPS.

I can’t wait to see the disaster of finding a parking spot unfold now that stories and TGL are both open! I know they’re constructing another lot at some point but it’ll be interesting until then around lunch and dinner times
