Jays down 30-39 at half, they look tired and rightfully so after last nights marathon game.

Trey is carrying the team offensively with 12 pts. Need someone else to step up.

Jays were down 14 a couple of times but came back and had a chance to tie the game with 7 sec left.

Lost 79-81 but what a fight by the Jays!

#10 Men's Basketball Falls in Maui Thriller to #14 Arizona

A game-ending 12-2 run wasn't enough as No. 10 Creighton men's basketball team suffered its first loss of the season on Wednesday, falling 81-79 in the championship game of the Maui Jim Maui Invitational to No. 14 Arizona. The Wildcats improve to 6-0 on the season, while Creighton is 6-1.

Creighton returns to the court on Thursday, Dec. 1, for a 6 p.m. game at No. 4 Texas. The contest will be televised by ESPN and can be heard on 1620 The Zone and 101.9 The Keg.

Apparently musselman, the Arkansas coach got into a yelling match with a SDSU fan after their game last night. Doesn’t surprise me with the way he acted during and after the Creighton game. So glad that Coach Mac has much more class.

Men's Basketball Ranked 7th; Matching Best Mark Ever
Bluejays visits Texas on Thursday

The Creighton men's basketball team matched its best ranking in program history when it earned the No. 7 slot in this week's Associated Press Top 25 poll. Creighton had previously been ranked four times (Jan. 16, 2017, March 10, 2020, March 18, 2020 and Jan. 7, 2021).

The Bluejays, who were ranked ninth in the preseason AP poll and 10th the last two weeks, moved up three spots after going 2-1 last week at the Maui Jim Maui Invitational. Creighton (6-1) defeated then-No. 21 Texas Tech and then-No. 9 Arkansas before falling by two points to then-No. 14 Arizona in the championship game in Maui.

Rough game Jays finally made a few shots late in the game but it wasn’t enough. They lost by five if they can take care of business versus Nebraska this weekend they shouldn’t fall out of the top 10 losing by five on the road at number to Texas is not a bad thing, especially considering how bad Creighton shot.

AUSTIN, Texas -- No. 2 Texas used a 10-0 run midway through the second half to earn a 72-67 win over No. 7 Creighton in the Big 12 - BIG EAST Battle on Thursday at a sold out Moody Center in Austin, Texas. Despite starting the night 1-for-22 from three-point range, CU still gave the unbeaten Longhorns their toughest test to date thanks to a late barrage of three-pointers in the closing minutes. Texas improved to 6-0 with the win while Creighton dropped to 6-2 with its second consecutive setback to an unbeaten top-15 squad.

The good thing about the season so far is Creighton is six into after playing 4 ranked teams. In years past Creighton probably didn’t even play that many ranked team til halfway through the season.

Thankfully, they have some easier games coming up on the schedule, so hopefully they bench can get some quality minutes and improve some because it’s benches providing absolutely no help. In this game they were shut out yet again.

I agree with this. The Jays have lost to 2 teams now ranked in the top 5..

I think some home cookin’ is exactly what they need to get more work in..and some bench “mojo” back…

I’ll definitely be viewing. But the TV cast instead of in person. I’ll definitely try and hit up some conference home games later this season..for the first time since before the pandemic…

Pretty crazy that the Huskers hadn’t won in Omaha since the 1995.

Definitely not the year I expected this streak to end.

Sounds like McDermott is open to switching things around if it doesn’t change soon.

I believe on the post game he mentioned that they were brought here as shooters but if some players aren’t going to produce they will be replaced in the lineup.

With lose against Arizona and Texas, I could put up with a #15 AP vote, but at Home following a beat down against Nebraska… I would like to see a #25 vote….

I was pretty close, the Jays are now ranked #21 in the 12/5/22 AP poll.

On a side note, NC is completely out after 4 consecutive losses.

I heard a rumor that Kalk is out with mono, hopefully not true, but if it were that might explain why he hasn't looked right the past few games.
