Women's Basketball Climbs to 20th in AP Poll
Bluejays Earn Highest Ranking in School History


The Creighton women's basketball team earned the highest ranking in school history when the Associated Press Top 25 poll was announced on Monday, November 14. Creighton has previously been ranked 11 other times in the AP Poll (5) and USA Today/Coaches Poll (6). The Bluejays were No. 21 in the preseason AP and USA Today/Coaches Poll. The 2022-23 season began for the Bluejays with a pair of road victories, 78-69 at No. 23 South Dakota State on Nov. 7 and 74-51 at South Dakota on Nov. 10. Creighton finished the 2021-22 season with a 23-10 record and advanced to the program's first Elite Eight thanks to victories over Colorado, No. 8 Iowa and No. 10 Iowa State, with the latter two wins being CU's first top 10 victories in program history.

Molly Mogensen scored 19 of her career-high 22 points in the first half and No. 20 Creighton never trailed in a 77-51 win over No. 22 Nebraska on Tuesday night in the first women's basketball sellout ever (2,306) at D.J. Bluejay Women's Hoops Continues to Climb, Checking in at #16


Powered by a 4-0 start to the 2022-23 season, the Creighton women's basketball team continued to climb the Associated Press Top 25 poll, reaching a program high of #16 when the poll was announced on Monday, November 21.

Creighton has previously been ranked 13 other times in the AP Poll (6) and USA Today/Coaches Poll (&). The Bluejays were No. 21 in the preseason AP and USA Today/Coaches Poll. The 2022-23 season began for the Bluejays with a pair of road victories, 78-69 at No. 23 South Dakota State on Nov. 7 and 74-51 at South Dakota on Nov. 10. Creighton's home season began with a 77-51 win over #22 Nebraska (Nov. 15), followed by another impressive road win at Northern Iowa 85-66 on Nov. 20. Women's Basketball Downs Omaha, 93-71


Juniors Emma Ronsiek (Sioux Falls, S.D.) and Lauren Jensen (Lakeville, Minn.) combined to score 46 points as #16 Creighton bested Omaha 93-71 on Tuesday, November 22. The win lifted the Bluejays to 5-0 on the season, while Omaha fell to 3-2.

Creighton returns to the court on Friday, November 25 in its BIG EAST Conference opener at Xaiver at 11:00 a.m.

Bluejays Take Wind Out of Pirates' Sails with 75-53 Win


Omaha, Neb. -- Playing with a renewed passion, the Creighton Women's Basketball team took the fight to Seton Hall with a 75-53 victory on Wednesday, January 11. The victory boosted the Bluejays to 11-5 on the season as well as 5-3 in BIG EAST play, while the Pirates fell to 13-5 overall and 6-2 in conference competition.

Pretty cool that the women were on right after the men on FS1, and unlike the men, they took care of business against a good team.

That is unique. The same thing happened to the Huskers a week or so ago on the weekend. The men's game was followed by the woman's game, with the Huskers playing different opponents
For the record  NEBUGEATER does not equal BUGEATER    !!!!!!!

Women's Basketball Earns Road Win at Seton Hall


SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. -- The Creighton women's basketball team completed its third consecutive regular-season sweep of rival Seton Hall on Tuesday night with a 77-64 victory over the Pirates inside Walsh Gymnasium. The win, Creighton's fifth in a row, improved the Bluejay record to 17-6 on the season and 11-4 in BIG EAST action. The Pirates dropped to 15-9 on the year and 8-6 in league play with just its second home loss in conference play this winter.

Four Bluejay starters score in double-figures


MILWAUKEE, Wis. -- The Creighton women's basketball team picked up its 20th victory of the season with a 55-44 victory at Marquette on Wednesday, Feb. 22nd, to complete a season sweep of the Golden Eagles. The Bluejays (20-7, 14-5 BIG EAST) led 14-12 after 10 minutes and 26-25 at the half before outscoring the hosts 18-5 in the third quarter to build a 44-30 lead heading into the final frame.

What a finish in the Big East tournament game tonight. They hit a three to tie it for OT and then overtime. They hit a put back buzzer beater to win 75-74!

UNCASVILLE, Conn. -- BIG EAST Player of the Year Maddy Siegrist had 37 points and 11 rebounds to lead No. 11 Villanova to a 63-61 win over Creighton on Sunday in the semifinals of the BIG EAST Tournament presented by JEEP.

Creighton will face Illinois or Mississippi State in the Opening Round on Friday, March 17


The Creighton Women's basketball team is returning to the NCAA Tournament for the ninth time in program history and sixth time in the past 12 years after earning an at-large bid to 2023 Women's Basketball Championship. The sixth-seeded Bluejays (22-8) will meet the winner of first four matchup between Illinois and Mississippi State on Friday, March 17 at Purcell Pavllion in South Bend, Indiana.
