LINCOLN, Neb. -- Nebraska volleyball outside hitter Madi Kubik and libero Lexi Rodriguez were named to the All-Big Ten First Team in a vote by the league's 14 head coaches released on Wednesday. Middle blockers Kaitlyn Hord and Bekka Allick were selected to the All-Big Ten Second Team, and Allick was also an All-Big Ten Freshman Team honoree.

Nebraska volleyball's NCAA Tournament run continues. The Huskers defeated Kansas in four sets (25-14, 25-18, 19-25, 26-24) Friday in the second round.

Nebraska and Creighton athletics are having a standout year! It's great to see Nebraska volleyball moving on. Hopefully we see them again when we host the Final Four in a couple weeks!

On a side note, I am glad we are in the regular rotation for the championships. Since we lost the Olympic swim trials, any big event like this will help fill that void.

Nebraska volleyball's season has come to a close. The Huskers fell in the Louisville Regional at the hand of Oregon Thursday afternoon. The Ducks took the match in five sets: 14-25, 26-24, 22-25, 32-30, 15-11. NU had a number of opportunities to close out the match. In the fourth set alone, Nebraska had four match-point chances but couldn't close out the Ducks. Oregon out-hit Nebraska .217 to .199. That includes OU committing more attack errors in the match.

LINCOLN, Neb. -- Two programs from the Cornhusker State are in the final volleyball rankings, as is another helmed by a Nebraska native. Nebraska finished the season ranked ninth, while Creighton came in at No. 21 in the final poll. Louisville, which is coached by former Husker and Cortland native Dani Busboom Kelly, closed at No. 2 after falling to top-ranked Texas in the national championship match on Saturday. The Huskers finished the season with a 26-6 record, falling to Oregon in five sets in the Sweet 16. The Bluejays were 27-5 on the year, dropping their opening round NCAA Tournament match to Auburn in five sets. Busboom Kelly, a Freeman High and Nebraska grad, led Louisville to a 31-3 mark and the program's first ever NCAA Championship appearance.

VB: Huskers add Florida transfer Merritt Beason

The Nebraska volleyball program announced the addition of Florida transfer Merritt Beason on Friday. Beason, a 6-3 opposite hitter, will join the Huskers in January after playing the last two seasons at Florida, where she was an All-SEC and AVCA All-Southeast Region honoree in 2022, as well as an All-SEC Freshman Team selection in 2021.
