I have two just like the one your showing and two other versions of Paxton Postcards. I'm curious, what do they go for on Ebay?

I guess we will both find out. Just listed this one. I have had individual post cards sell for anywhere from 0.99 to 47.50 each. Most in the $3 to $5 range though.

I am so excited to see this entire block revitalized. Just one year ago I remember driving by the south side of the Paxton and thinking how could this block look so blighted when everything else was going gang busters?

Awesome news. One more block coming back to life. How many more to go?

ok as i was driving downtown today i noticed that they built a massive cinder block structure on top of the paxton (looked at least 2 stories tall). Is this something relating to the elevator shaft or what? It is very ugly at the moment and I hope it doesnt detract from the building when it is complete.

That would be my guess, and perhaps some mechanical as well.

As I recall the Paxton is to have a roof top deck. Perhaps this structure is elevator access to this deck.

The powerwash/restoration of the exterior brick has begun on the north side of the building. Wow, what a difference in color. This building is going to be a gem when it's done.

Ya, I don't get it. That was your old handle, but what's the rellevance.

Anyway, Itsallaboutme pointed out how much of a gem this going to be when finished and can't agree more. What will make this building even more attractive is the retail and restaraunt(s) on the base. Who can forget the (bank) offices covering the parking structure? Should be beautiful and a nice addition. A lot has been changing in DTO lately and I have feeling more is to come.

Absolutely, Adam.

This is probably the most significant historic restoration in Omaha's history because of the scale of the project, the prior state of the building, the commitment of the developer to the building's history and proper and total restoration.

I wish someone would have something similar to this to the old Woodmen before it had to leave us. Luckily we didn't have to lose this beauty as well.

Snapped these today. Holy shnikes! Look at the color difference where they cleaned the brick. Kinda odd to me that they are powerwashing the brick after putting in new windows but whatever works. Its going to look really good.

Wow, great shots wags! Looks like the clean part was just added. The building looks fantastic with the new windows and now clean facade. I want to see inside and see how well done that is. This renovation sure is making it easy for CBS Homes to sell the units.

They are going on the south side of the building. Not many of the units will have them, mainly because it's a conversion project.

Since it is an historical renovation, the tax credits are only applicable if they maintain the historical facade. As much as I think this will be a great project, the small windows and lack of private outside space in most units was a big factor for us not purchasing there. Hopefully that won't be a setriment to others.

Well, yes it is an historical renovation, but regardless converted use properties are generally limited by the structure itself. Example would be floorplans have to be structured around the columns and floor loads. I agree w/ MTO that they won't have a problem selling the units though. :)

There was a story on WOWT at 4 about The Paxton and other Condos, I missed the first half, I am sure it will be on later, or on the internet.
