What a nightmare this is for all of Husker Nation. When I first saw it on my phone I thought I read it wrong, it was only after I read it again that I realized this is real. I first thought he got a DUI, which would of been better. Usually football coaches get DUI's not assault charges.

Yeah - I'd safely say that he is definitely NOT being retained on the staff for the Huskers, regardless of the initial intentions.

There's certainly nothing good of this - a completely unacceptable act. Unfortunately for him whatever coaching opportunities may have been on the table are likely (and should be) off the table.

OMG, right?! Reading the latest on this, it appears he attacked his wife during an argument, strangled her, punched her, pulled her hair and tried to flush her phone down the toilet.

Any program willing to bring him on as a coach of any type would be idiotic. Of course "innocent until proven guilty", but I'd say it does not look good for him at all. There was a witness aside from his wife, and visible swelling and redness on her face when the cops arrived. I'd say he's done - at least for a very, very long time (he could get 3 years in jail, but I'm guessing that won't happen).

I totally forgot he was in trouble for something similar when he played for Nebraska - that was on Channel 6. If that's the case, although it's been decades, I think he should be done with football (at least in Nebraska). They "let it go" last time... one of those Osborne situations where I assume he tried to help him out.

After the Iowa win this guy was on top of the World, now less than a month later he's unemployed and his coaching career is in serious jeopardy. No Nebraska sports story shocked me more than this one. A crazy turn of events for what was one of Nebraska's most popular assistant coaches in recent memory.

|expletive|, the incident happened just a couple days after the Iowa game didn't it? This isn't news, it was a foregone conclusion. He messed up big time. Went from the majority of the state rooting for him, to the majority of the state saying "Mickey who?" overnight. It was inevitable that he wouldn't be associated with the school.

Grambling State University names Mickey Joseph as Head Football Coach



GRAMBLING, La. (KOLN) - Grambling State University has named Mickey Joseph as the 15th head football coach, announced by Vice-President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Dr. Trayvean Scott on Monday morning. Joseph was most recently the at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, his alma mater, where he served as associate head coach, wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator during the 2022 season. He completed the 2022 campaign as interim head coach for the Cornhuskers after Scott Frost was fired.

Hopefully he does well, the guys an excellent recruiter. His win over Iowa was fantastic and impressive. Had some unfortunate personal issues at Nebraska but looks like those have been sorted out.
