I agree. Walker and Griesel are our top 2 but I would put Gary a solid 3rd for us.

Didn't make it to the game last night with the roads forecast. I Watched it and wished I was there..... Good to see them gut out a win that was far from a sure thing.

I heard on the radio this AM that Juwan Gary had surgery and is definitely out for the rest of the year.

Nebraska men’s basketball coach Fred Hoiberg announced Wednesday evening that Juwan Gary will have left shoulder surgery and miss the remainder of the 2022-23 season.

LINCOLN, Neb. -- Nebraska men’s basketball coach Fred Hoiberg announced Wednesday evening that Juwan Gary will have left shoulder surgery and miss the remainder of the 2022-23 season. Gary, a 6-foot-6, 215-pound forward, suffered the injury in the first half of Nebraska’s game with Illinois on Jan. 10. An MRI revealed last week the extent of the injury, and after meeting with a shoulder specialist earlier on Wednesday, it was determined that undergoing surgery was the best course of action. Gary will undergo shoulder surgery next week, and according to Athletic Trainer R.J. Pietig, the rehab process will be between 5-6 months.

Yeah when we were watching last night we noticed it was a much lighter crowd. With Nebraska drawing so many fans from outside Lincoln, bad weather could have a negative impact. I know some friends that had season football tickets in front of me also had season basketball tickets. They drove in from Cozad. Last night that would not have been an option for fans out there with 80 being closed.

It definitely was a fun game to watch on tv and would have been even better in person.

Good discussion by Nick Handley this morning on who is closest to them in Big 10. No real consensus. Discussion was during segment with Jacob Bigelow from Huskers Illustrated.

Did anyone else watch the B1G Story show on Chris Street? It is 30 Years since he was killed in the car accident on 1/19/93.

I was living in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, at the time, and watching this brought back a lot of memories.

I did not go to a lot of Iowa Hawkeye Basketball games while living there, but I did go to the Michigan game, which was the first home game after his death. I had gotten tickets well in advance of all this happening because I wanted to see the Fab 5 play. That is one of the most surreal feelings in an arena I have ever been in. A strange mixture of elation and sadness that I will never forget. The Hawkeyes Beat Michigan, too, and it was almost like it was meant to be.

Fred H is in the show for multiple comments. He was playing at the same time and was another in-state player making it in Div 1 in state basketball. His interview segments are him in Husker gear in what likely is shot in his house.

I watched most of it the night it premiered (it followed a Nebraska game). Was really interesting. Obviously we were still in the Big 12 then so I didn't follow Iowa as closely as I do now. I remember when it happened though.

The Hoiberg segments that I saw were really interesting. Didn't know that the following year Hoiberg wore Street's number at ISU and it started a tradition there to wear the number with Iowa raised players at ISU.

I highly recommend this doc. Was so well done.

Wow it was powerful enough with no connection. I can only imagine what it was like watching this for her.

What started as showing some promise earlier this season has turned into another rerun. I get the injuries, but the Huskers are not the only team dealing with these

Yeah it just shows how thin the line was with this team besides competitive and what we are going through now. Losing two starters (and I would say best two defenders on a team that was depending on defense) was more than this keep could handle.

Off season will be interesting to see what happens with Fred. No clear cut right decision from what I can see.

Yeah I only watched the first half. Sam was on fire. Had to miss the second half to coach hockey practice. Sounds like from the Nebraska point of view I didn't miss a thing.

I have not really been following the men's team this season. Can someone fill me in on what the reasoning was behind having Ramel Lloyd redshirt? Too many contributing backcourt players?

Yeah his name came up on 1620 after the two big injuries. I think Jacob Padilla was the one who gave the answer .

He’s redshirting this year. By his own request. Sounds like he has been lighting it up in practice, and if he wasn’t redshirting, would be seeing significant playing time.
