Re: J Coco's??
I had heard an unsubstantiated rumor over the summer that they may be moving to Blackstone where another restaurant is currently operating..

Website now confirming 12/31 is the last day in Leavenworth and stay tuned for the future, which would confirm the moving rumors; but it seemingly odd not to have the details on that lined up when you announce you're "closing." The one way to explain that away is the their moving to an existing spot in the Blackstone theory above and don't want to steal their thunder that they're closing.

They said they are reopening. I have been there only once. I have not been motivated to go back. Hope they are successful in the future.

Relocating to the Brothers spot? Re: J Coco's??
The space is terribly noisy. The parking situation is suboptimal. And Apparently above all per initial post the building may have been sold.

Re: J Coco's??
I agree with the noise, but how is the parking suboptimal? There is a free parking lot almost across the street and after 5 you can park in the lot behind the restaurant too. I'd say it has better parking than anything in the Blackstone or Downtown.Mr.Nuke wrote: Tue Nov 09, 2021 6:17 pm

I have only been to J Coco once, and it was amazing. I need to get back there after they open in the new space.

Yes moving to Blackstone should ensure a quiet location with lots of convenient parking.

I've been trying to think of where in Blackstone will have the requisite space for J Coco, but all are currently occupied by successful tenants. Is stirnella in trouble? That's my best guess

Could it be going where Brothers currently is? Didn't we hear that brother's lounge was closing?

Don’t forget the Bob’s donut space is open now. Is that big enough? I’ve been earlybird but I’ve never been to Bob’s donuts.

Brothers would be the right size, not sure if it has a kitchen already. Bob's is too small, it's just for take out.

If J Coco’s we’re to go into the Brothers spot, wouldn’t they be the same kind of food/atmosphere as the Strinella restaurant next door?

If they fixed the megaphone like sound problem, their food would be good fit down there.

Re: J Coco's??
The other wildcard while not exactly Blackstone would be the Grey Plume spot at midtown crossing. I'm still skeptical of the whole we're closing in a month and half but won't tell you where we're going aspect of this though...

IF they do not have a new lease locked down what are they supposed to do. Just one theory.Mr.Nuke wrote: Thu Nov 18, 2021 12:53 pm The other wildcard while not exactly Blackstone would be the Grey Plume spot at midtown crossing. Re: J Coco's??
They should've had a lease locked down... It may not be the case, but I'm assuming their lease was likely up at the end of the year as it stood. Otherwise the new owner would likely have to honor the existing terms of the lease. If you assume that is accurate, this isn't a situation where this was a sudden surprise to them.nebugeater wrote: Thu Nov 18, 2021 3:22 pmIF they do not have a new lease locked down what are they supposed to do. We are in a situation right now where businesses everywhere, especially restaurants, are having a hard time filling staff. A prolonged shutdown of any length is going to make it more difficult to start up again in that environment. If everything was on the up-and-up, you'd have something lined up before shutting down, not necessarily ready to open, but at least be able to say hey here is where we are moving. Like I said a week and a half ago, the one way to explain that away is that they are moving to an existing spot in the Blackstone and don't want to steal the thunder that someone is closing; but i'm growing more skeptical of that explanation by the day.

Sounds like the new owner wants to demolish the building and sell the lot. Legends is looking for a new spot as well right now.

I don't see any recent sales data, did it just happen or still pending?

Somebody just posted in the Dundee Memorial Park Facebook group that J.Coco will be a real estate office and that apartments are going where Gerda's is. I cannot find a source for the rumor.

That thread is blowing up. Would be such a shame to put a real estate office where a thriving business that supports walkability is.lisanstan wrote: Fri Dec 17, 2021 10:22 am Somebody just posted in the Dundee Memorial Park Facebook group that J.Coco will be a real estate office and that apartments are going where Gerda's is. It looks like Elmwood Pharmacy is moving into the old J. Coco/Legends building.

Re: J Coco's??
J Coco's closed at the end of 2021 with hints that it would reopen. I have not seen any update on that front at all. The Domain name that was used is now a dead link and states it is an unclaimed web address.
Does anyone have any insight into a reopening or what the owner is now doing?
I enjoyed the place the few times I was there.

I believe Jennifer is working at Block 16. Not sure if this is full time, long term, or just occasionally..nebugeater wrote: Thu Jan 19, 2023 8:32 am J Coco's closed at the end of 2021 with hints that it would reopen.
