Yeah it is his, he does pull up some crazy stats, glad that we have him though. I do the same thing researching stats sometimes, obviously he has a better database to pull info from but I like it.

Butler upset Xavier tonight, so tomorrows sold out game is even bigger. Granted, Marquette will probably beat Georgetown earlier in the day but Creighton controls its own destiny a little more and can still win the Big East

Stingy Defense Guides Men's Basketball to 56-53 Win Over Connecticut

Led by a stifling defense and 17 points from sophomore Trey Alexander, the Creighton men's basketball team defended its home court with a 56-53 win over Connecticut on Saturday, February 11. The victory lifts the Bluejays to 17-8 on the season and 11-3 in BIG EAST play, while the Huskies fell to 19-7 overall and 8-7 in conference action.

The Bluejays return to action on Tuesday, February 14 in a road contest at Providence with a tip set for 6:00 p.m. (CT).

Today was another huge win. Big game coming up on Tuesday at Providence, but the jays are tied for 2nd at 1/2 game back, with Marquette still coming to Omaha on Feb 21.

We wanted to go but the cheapest tickets we could find for Saturday were $63 a piece. Looks like the cheapest were $39 but weren't available. I remember goin when it was 15...that is much more palatable:)

That game was a higher price due to being a Saturday sold-out game. I know that just a few weeks for a weekday game it was only $3 vividseats.

3. HIGH-FLYING BLUEJAYS

The Creighton rollercoaster has been insane this season. When Creighton landed prized South Dakota State transfer Baylor Scheierman, the Bluejays were circled as a team who could compete for a Final Four bid. A strong performance in the Maui Invitational backed up those thoughts.

Then came the slump.

Creighton lost six games in a row, including setbacks to teams like Nebraska (not a tournament team), BYU (not a tournament team) and Arizona State (not a tournament team right now).

The Creighton doubters were jumping for joy. The Creighton lovers were debating if it was smart to sell their stock.

Ever since Ryan Kalkbrenner returned to the lineup on Dec. 22, the Bluejays have been one of college basketball’s best teams. Creighton has reeled off a much-needed 11-2 run, and the Bluejays rank third nationally in adjusted efficiency since Kalkbrenner got healthy.

Creighton’s starting five of Kalkbrenner, Scheierman, Trey Alexander, Arthur Kaluma and Ryan Nembhard has outscored opponents by 22.87 points per 100 possessions this season, according to Pivot Analysis. Creighton’s starting lineup has an eye-popping 23.19 net rating during Big East play.

Creighton controls its destiny in the Big East race and looks like a squad with National Championship aspirations.

What a game!!! Sucks that Creighton didn’t win, especially with two chances to win it.

It also sucks that they didn’t call the file at the end of regulation that they should have. We should’ve been shooting free throws to win the game. It doesn’t help when Creighton doesn’t have a bench because the guys were just too tired to play 50 minutes tonight.

Out of the 2 games this week, last night was the one the Jays could afford to lose. Providence is a very good team and it was on the road, just a shame the Jays couldn't hit on of those game winners, they had several chances.

Need to get the road win on Saturday at St Johns.

Yeah, they definitely had clear opportunities to win, just couldn't finish the job. That said, two ranked teams that never got further than 6pts away from each other until the second OT. That was a grind of a game. If there ever was a "good loss" this was it. Way better than Purdue losing to unranked Northwestern.

Now, time to get their poop in a group before getting back at it on Saturday.

Like I mentioned last night, this Prov-Creighton game was the best back and forth game I have seen all season. Of course being a Jays fan, it would have been great to get the win, but you could tell both teams were giving their all and left it on the court.

Just wonder if Creighton would have used the bench a little more, some of the starters may not have had such tired legs and could have hit one of those shots.
