I have not really been following the men's team this season. Can someone fill me in on what the reasoning was behind having Ramel Lloyd redshirt? Too many contributing backcourt players?
Yeah his name came up on 1620 after the two big injuries. I think Jacob Padilla was the one who gave the answer .
He’s redshirting this year. By his own request. Sounds like he has been lighting it up in practice, and if he wasn’t redshirting, would be seeing significant playing time.

Completely agree. You had those scoring runs in both the first and second half. I was driving to Baxter after the game and they were talking about it in the post game. Jake pointed out that each time Michigan put up a good run, Nebraska would answer but it took everything to close the gap, and they didn't have anything left to keep going and get a lead.
I don't have a link to quote this, but it sounds like Trev has made some statements in the last couple of days about real progress with the Basketball program, and they are fun to watch. Heard talk of this on the radio. It wasn't stated directly, but that indicated Fred will be back. I am OK with that too.

They are again advertising their summer camp as the Fred Hoiberg camp. I know it's not a lot to bank on but it seems if there was much doubt on his return it would be more likely billed as the Nebraska Basketball camp:

After trailing by 17 in the second half, Nebraska grabbed victory from the jaws of defeat Saturday afternoon as the blazing hot Keisei Tominaga and a raucous home crowd propelled the Huskers to a 73-63 overtime win against the Wisconsin Badgers.
The comeback was the Huskers' largest ever at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
Nebraska outscored Wisconsin 12-2 in OT — six of the points coming from Walker — and walked out of PBA victorious. Tominaga finished with 22 points and Walker with 18. Keita was awarded the game ball from coach Hoiberg after snatching 11 rebounds in 23 minutes of play.

It got me to thinking about the other local star player from that recruiting class, Hunter Sallis. Things haven't gone as well fro him at Gonzaga. It would not surprise me if he hits the transfer portal after the season.

Creighton made his final 8. Due to Covid restrictions, he only made 2 official visits. One to Gonzaga and one to Nebraska.
If he does transfer I assume he’s going to look at rosters and see who has the biggest need at his position and where he can get the most playing time. Could be an interesting off season….
Nebraska basketball put on a masterful offensive performance Tuesday night as the Huskers defeated the Rutgers Scarlet Knights 82-72 on the road. The Huskers picked up their second straight win and third in four games as they dissected the stout Rutgers defense. Heading into Tuesday night, the Scarlet Knights led the Big Ten in points allowed per game and opponent field goal percentage per game, but they could not stop Nebraska.

Just like there was no way we would come back from 17 down with 16 Min left Vs. Wis.
Rutgers just might be their best win of the season. With the defense Rutgers plays, and it being a road game. Such a fun team to watch right now. Dealt with the adversity of losing their 2 best defenders on a team who's identity is defense.
