Didn't hurt too much either considering he is only shooting 30% from 3 and avg 3.3pts/game (although 3 pts would have won this game)

After watching this play again, there is absolutely no way this isn't a foul, not to mention the no call on the back court violation of Trey since the foul wasn't called. Worst part is a ref is standing 3 ft away.

I’m with you on that completely. Trey got completely mugged..

Poor officiating in the Big East has become the rule rather than the exception..

I’ll say this about last nights game, if there was ever definition for a “good loss” the Jays, losing on the road in a hostile environment to a ranked opponent in DOUBLE OT, this game is it. Might actually help the Jays status rather than hurt it..

Being very cup half full here, I know, lol…

No, you are absolutely right. That is a game that shouldn’t hurt the jays at all. It was a very good opponent and they took them to double overtime. If anything, hopefully it gets them more prepared for St. John’s coming up and of course the tournament down the road.

It is nice to look at but still far to early to look too deep into, I do think the 12 seed has quite a few upsets over the 5 seed in history though.

Kaluma Lifts Men's Basketball Over Red Storm
Bluejay bench supplies 20 points

QUEENS, N.Y. -- Back-to-back-to-back three-pointers late in the second half by Arthur Kaluma helped Creighton earn a hard-fought 77-67 road win at St. John's on Saturday night at sold out Carnesecca Arena on the St. John's campus. The win, Creighton (18-9, 12-4 BIG EAST) ninth in its past 10 games, moves the Bluejays into a three-way tie for second place with a pivotal home game vs. No. 11 Marquette looming on Tuesday.

Kaluma got hot with 5 min to go and went on a personal 9-0 run before also assisting Kalk on a dunk that blew the game open. The difference in this game was the bench though scoring 20, especially Reef who hit 3 big 3’s when no one else could.

I’ll take a double-digit road win anytime.

We ended up watching the 2nd half of the Jays-St John’s game sipping an after dinner Irish Coffee in the lounge at Cascio’s restaurant on 10th St..

Nice defense and a fantastic finish by Kaluma sealed this one. Glad to see him get hot and work out of a shooting slump. Nice game also for Reef. R2 played big as well. Huge road win for the Jays..

Creighton- 77
Red Storm- 67..

On to this Tuesday night, in what could be a “game of the season” match with Marquette in Omaha. Can’t wait…

To me, this is the game of the regular season for the Jays..

They beat Marquette at home Tuesday night, they’re in the driver’s seat to either win the Big East outright, or share. Plus, defeating the Warriors is always a great pleasure…

Marquette Golden Eagles men's basketball

The Marquette Golden Eagles men's basketball team (formerly the Marquette Hilltoppers and Marquette Warriors) represents Marquette University in NCAA Division I college basketball and competes in the Big East Conference. The team plays its home games at Fiserv Forum in downtown Milwaukee (also the home of the NBA's Milwaukee Bucks).

Tonight's Men's Basketball Game vs. #10 Marquette is Sold Out
Standing room only tickets go on sale at 10 a.m.

Creighton men's basketball will host its fourth straight sellout this evening when the No. 19 Bluejays host No. 10 Marquette at 7:30 p.m. Limited standing room only tickets will go on sale on this morning at 10 a.m. at the CHI Health Center Omaha box office. Student section tickets will still be available for full-time Creighton students to claim at the box office tonight beginning at 6 p.m., which is when gates open 90 minutes prior to the 7:30 p.m. tip-off. This evening's sellout will be Creighton's fourth home sellout in a row, the longest stretch for the program since selling out the final six games of the 2019-20 campaign. It will also be Creighton's fifth home sellout of the season, and 13th sellout in 28 games at all venues.

This is a cool stat for Kalk:

Ryan Kalkbrenner has made exactly 400 career field goals, meaning he's now eligible to appear in the NCAA's record book for career field goal percentage.
The Florissant, Mo., native has attempted 601 career shots, putting him at 66.6 percent overall. That places the junior center eighth in NCAA history.

Naturally, the Big East officiating totally blew calls the last 2 minutes of the game..and of course, it royally pi$$es me off..

That said, the Jays really lost this game the 1st 10 or so minutes of the 2nd half when they turned the ball over 7 times, couldn’t throw the ball in the ocean and played inconsistent defense. At one point, Marquette had outscored the Jays by 18 points in the 2nd half. To the Jays credit, they switched to a 2-3 zone defense from man to man, and clawed back to tie the game after being down 10..Also, I’d say I would have liked to see Reef get more significant playing time down the stretch. His defense could have made a difference the last 3 minutes..

This was a really bad home loss for CU..The Golden Eagles are in the drivers seat for the Big East regular season championship. Now we need the Jays to sweep their final 3 regular season games and finish strong…

Marquette is a really good team and this isn’t a bad loss but just one you hate to lose. The Jays had control and gave up the 13-0 run and couldn’t battle back.

Kaluma was really missing in this game, and I’m starting to think this isn’t the exception, sure he hit the 3 3’s last game but outside those he was terrible then too.
